As far as August releases go, City on Fire is a must buy. New bonus features means I'll be getting the Sleepaway Camp sequels and Blaxploitation Vol. 2. Miami Vice is a maybe, I need to rewatch it, but I guess if I'm gonna do that I might as well rewatch it in 4K.

In most cases, I am totally satisfied with existing blu rays. I'm not a 4k fiend by any means. For me this is just a simple case of enthusiastic fandom. I sincerely love these 2 films and am compelled to support this collectors edition upgrade. High price be damned.

Deathstalker / Deathstalker II pre-order, and extras. The packaging for this one appears tobe a rigid case too, like the ones that came with the Halloween 4K releases, and Elvira's Haunted Hills.

I both agree with you but I’m also about to upgrade Miami Vice which is a movie that will not look better in 4K so…

Are those Deathstalker films as good as their cover arts? I love that Boris Vallejo art, but the films he's done movie posters for hardly ever live up to that epic art.

I don't think you'd be disappointed if the box art looks cool to you.

Call me a sucker, but I ordered the Bava collection this morning. I get sucked in for exclusive things, like the 52 page book, that's only available for the first 1,000 sold. A book, that I'll likely never read. A book, that I'll probably end up paying $50+ for, if you consider a discounted price I could probably get the box set for some day.

Question for the SF Official: Does Shout plan on sustaining release-heavy months going forward or will these be more off the cuff and sporadic? Whenever there are 10 or more titles in one month, chances for everyone to get something they like increase exponentially.

If you are going into these films looking for big budget sword-and-sorcery action along the lines of Conan or Excalibur, you'll likely be disappointed. If you go in looking for 42nd Street-style exploitation fare, then I would think you would enjoy them.

The first one is a bit more sleazy than many would expect. The second one has no real connection to the first, and does not take itself seriously at all. To me, it strikes a perfect balance between humor and action. After all of the sword-and-sorcery films of that era that took themselves so seriously, it was a nice change of pace. I would say the tone of the 2nd film does not match the style of the poster, if that's what you're asking.

Deathstalker is in no way epic.

Do we know if there are any plans to release at least some of the Blaxploitation Classics box set titles individually? Mainly the more popular/classic titles like Coffy, Truck Turner and Foxy Brown.

No, they are contractually obligated to only release them as a set.

Depends on several factors, but it's nice when it works out that way.

September currently has about 25 titles.

[Show spoiler]I see an opportunity and I take it.

If September has the chance to get 25 titles, I can't even imagine what you have in store for October.

Shout!, some questions for today:

-I applaud and appreciate your great efforts in the tiles you released as well as providing new bonus material, but I noticed that Scorpion extras for Bucktown aren't ported and the same can be said for the majority of extras for World Trade Center. I'm honestly asking, did you try to get them included or did rights with the company(ies) that own them prevented it?

And again, not criticizing, but do you continue to try to get previous extras included (and from all parts of the world to a degree)? I just want to know the process.

-Also, I think releasing more cult shows on DVD/Blu-ray would be a very good idea. You could do a 4K/Blu-ray set of Chucky or Happy! and since you sublicensed the films, maybe you can get Warner to sublicense the Police Academy shows for DVD. Food for thought.

-Also, Cliff said one of the reasons Disney doesn't want to sublicense titles out is because THEY want to be the ones to do the restorations/provide the masters. Is it possible about creating a deal that allows them to do and keep the restorations (and any restorations for films in their library people want to see released) and both of your providing the extras? I feel that would be a nice compromise for such a deal.

-And one last question; can you give us a hint about what Shout Select #200 will be?

Thanks Shout!!
