Could it have been a Canadian code? Or did it come from splitting a digital code - that method of code generation was always a bit dodgy.

On the one hand, it implies that Tomorrowland is the only (or one of very few) such movies that don't correctly port from Google to MA.

On the other hand, the fact that 29 people clicked on "I have the same question", yet no one ever got an answer, implies that this problem has existed for 4 years and will never be corrected.

I purchased the code from TheDigitalMovies. You can see that the URL promises portability to MA, but the actual web page no longer specifically does. You might well be correct that TheDigitalMovies split a digital code without warning me that it may not port.
