Certainly, I much prefer to be the bearer of good news, and hopefully a blu-ray for the series is on the horizon.
I just figured it was important to share the news of his passing in a thread where the show, and by extension his character was appreciated.

I'm more familiar with the earliest part of the series, I wasn't as dedicated to it in its entirety as some of my friends were. Throughout the years, the "Peach Pit" seems to have endured as I'd notice references to the infamous Peach Pit, directly or indirectly, even to today and it always takes me back to the earliest time when the show was first introduced

For example, in recent years, when I'd hear songs from a relatively new band named Peach Pit, just the name was enough to remind me of the place from the show.

Looks amazing. Music is still replaced, even more than before. Now no "I Want Your Love" at the start of the pilot, and still no "Boulevard" when David drives Steve home from the party. "Clear to You" is gone.

Some minimal opening up on the sides of the frame with cropping on the top and bottom.

Some of the framing in episode 3 leaves a lot to be desired. A small amount of upscaled surfing shots at the start of the episode but the rest appears to be consistently remastered from film.

Hoping this is similar to Frasier where there's also a 4x3 remaster.

I am beyond excited about this very unexpected but pleasantly surprising remaster showing up out of nowhere on a Greek channel. 90210 looks spectacular in high definition, even better than I thought it would. I know it won't include the original music but I truly hope the episodes will at least be uncut (unlike the DVDs that butchered several of them).

If CBS video can restore Charmed with most of its original music intact, and Northern Exposure got the same treatment a few months back after a lot of begging and pleading from fans, (not sure from which studio), I have hope for 90210.

I know that I talked to some people who were producers for the show and they were trying to get funds together to cover the costs of music rights themselves incase CBS was too cheap to.

This restoration seems to mostly be from original elements for the most part (film grain and only minimal cropping on the picture, unlike poor BTVS) which was probably sonewhat costly— and no doubt CBS is going to want to recoup that money, at the very least we're probably looking at a blu-ray release, so that's something.
