Even without any hints the most likely candidates for the next batch would be:
- Transformers One - Wicked - The Wild Robot - Puss in Boots: The Last wish All of them would be awesome to get and will be pre-ordered. If they keep their releases schedule, it's probably mid to end July when those will be released. I've seen Wicked in 4k, and think it would be awesome to see it in 3D. |

If Turbine chooses The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge On the Run for a 3D bundle, I’ve taken note that no Blu-ray edition of the film worldwide includes a Dolby Atmos mix. But on Paramount Plus in the US, there is an English DD+ Dolby Atmos mix, which I hope gets included if Turbine does release it.
Can anyone confirm if Paramount Plus or Netflix in Germany has a German Atmos mix of Sponge On the Run? |

There's 6 more months to end the year, its fine if nothing comes out until September/October i.e. Until then we got Captain America BNW next month and Thunderbolts* to follow to keep us satisfied. |

Some other obscure ones that I've been interested in include that one nWave movie that never got a 3D BD "Fly Me to the Moon"
Rock Dog supposedly had a 3D version I never got to see was well. It was available digitally on SkyTV in the UK for a while but never got a 3D BD release as far as I'm aware. Meg 2 would be another nice one to get my hands on as i missed the 3D version in theaters. I already have a 3D BD for Coraline but I'd be interested in obtaining a new one for the recent 3D remaster they did. I also really want that 3D conversion they did of the original Jaws (1975) on 3D BD. I've heard they did a really good job but didn't get to see it. |

I just enjoyed the new live-action version of "How to Train your Dragon" in cinema in 3D. It is again very well done, the actors are matching perfectly, the the props, landscapes and especially the dragons look awesome. Many scenes are shot almost 1:1 to its animated predecessor. However, in this case it is a good thing because most scenes were already done so perfectly in the original that any changes could only mean a downgrade. Instead the producers added some bits here and there that add up to half an hour extra. The characters are sketched a bit better and also some action scenes were given an extra boost. So it's kind of an extended cut and also a bit more an adult version (rated age 12 instead of 6 here in Germany).
The 3D was often "just" natural looking, no extensive popouts or other gimmicky things. Unfortunatly I had the impression that the flight scenes were more heavily cut than in the original version, making the 3D less effective. But there are still a lot of shots that benefit greatly from the 3D. During the end titles, the panoramic scenes hovering through fantastic looking Iceland landscapes are worth the 3D treatment alone. In summary I would be very glad if this title would also make it to Blu-Ray 3D some time in the future. Last edited by Smallfoot; 06-10-2025 at 10:37 PM. |

Is there anyone here who has had customs issues with ordering to the UK? I recently did a fairly big order from Turbine (3D discs #7-#16) and, now that the goods have entered the UK, have received a customs notice saying that I owe a little over £40 VAT (plus another £10 or so in admin fees). I was under the impression that UK buyers we were paying the 20% VAT upfront at the point of purchase through the Turbine site?
I've emailed Turbine and they say that their customs declaration is correct, though I don't see the VAT specifically listed on the declaration form that they forwarded me. I notice earlier in the thread that there seemed to be issues with the declaration for several buyers in the US and Canada, and so I wondered if it is the case here too? I'm a little wary about paying more than an additional £50 to get the parcel delivered, without being certain that I'd be able to prove that there was an error and claim it back in retrospect. |
