Likely they cut them not only because they're the syndication edits, but because it's literally an old contest, so one, they'd get blown up over nothing, and two, there could be legal liability if you enter into a defunct contest. True they wouldn't owe any prizes, but they may find that one judge who says "you really should've cut that from the tape", and they'd owe something for that. Plus it's just a major hassle.

On season 9 and completely forgot the episode order is all messed up thanks to ABC being knob heads. Wish they'd corrected it for this DVD release.
