Not a big fan of the slip art on this, but it's actually quite lovely in hand, its thick and sturdy with spot gloss on the skull, and all the birds eyes which is cool. There's also reverse og art on the sleeve, which is nice at least.

Finally received my copy along with Let Scare Jessica to Death and Brimstone & Treacle, after it got delayed at the carrier (not VS’s fault). All three were bubble wrapped in a sturdy box. Will watch TDH and LSJTD tonight. I read nothing but praise about the transfers; can’t wait. Oh and I went for the reverse artwork for TDH: not crazy about the new one and was always fond of the original one.

Finished it. It is a great transfer. The automnal palette really looks gorgeous now. Cinematographer Tony Pearce-Roberts did a great job on this film (his interview in the supplements is super interesting and frank).

Absolutely amazing times for movie geeks (with additionally the upcoming release of the UNCENSORED NOTLD remake in mind)
But, yeah sure, physical media is dying! LOL What's still sorely missing is a 4k of Day of the Dead, though! Still waiting for my copy of The Dark Half to be shipped. On WowHD UK's website the 29th is listed as date of availability. So I'll have to read the impressions of other users in the meanwhile to tie me over... |

I first got this movie on DVD years ago. Then I missed the Scream Factory Blu-ray and got the Eureka. I'll have to wait until this goes down in price in order to get it. I love this movie. Better than the book ![]() |

Review's up:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-D...388814/#Review Weird what the reviewer has to say about the ending. I think it's close to the book's ending, if I'm not mistaken.... PQ is rated 5, though! ![]() |

I admit I haven't watched The Dark Half since the VHS days. Back then I preferred the book, as it was gorier than the movie. I even felt the movie was a bit of a letdown compared to Romero's Dead movies. Now that I've matured and can appreciate horror movies for more than their display of gore, I just might like The Dark Half a whole lot more! I'm definitely excited for this release! |

I read The Dark Half probably ten years after I watched the movie. I'm not a fan of King. I prefer the movies...except The Shining. I don't think it's a bad movie like King does. I just think it's severely overrated. I like when director's do things out of their own wheelhouse. Many claim that Hooper didn't direct Poltergeist because it wasn't TCM. Many probably don't realize that Black Christmas was directed by someone who did A Christmas Story and Baby Geniuses. Not that I have ever seen the baby IQ movie. I hope you like The Dark Half... |

us hardcore/long term fans of Romero know he was going to do The Stand i wonder why that never did happen? i at the top of my head can't seem to remember but i love that the paperback of The Stand the Original Paperback anyways says that.
the mummy? i can't remember hearing about that one, i know he was going to do The Girl who loved Tom Gordon for years but that never happened for some reason. |
