4K looks and sounds terrific. Unfortunately my disc also stops and stutters and skips ahead a few seconds at 17:48 mark as a few others have reported.

I had the same problem, but after I cleaned the disc, it played fine through that spot. I had already ordered a replacement, too, and that one didn’t freeze at 17:48. It’s not an insurmountable issue with every copy, but it does appear that exact moment is particularly vulnerable with these discs.

Likely an authoring error, and/or a bad layer transition.

I cleaned both discs, it still kept freezing. Couldn't FF out of either, had to skip ahead and then rewind. So I just ejected it.

Emailed MZ about it the other night to send it back for a refund, but with it being the holiday weekend I guess they won't reply until Monday. I was thinking maybe they just came from a bad batch.

Contact WAC directly so they know about it. So far, with three discs and two people, this can't be a coincidence. First hard fail I've seen from FiM.

I just watched my copy and had no issues on Panasonic UB9000

My player is the Sony UBP-X800M2 which has given me occasional issues as it has for others I believe but this High Society disc is the only one I have been unable to get to play correctly even after cleaning the disc.

Also I tried playing it in my Xbox Series X with the same results, freezing at exactly 17:48. If more start reporting this I guess we’ll know for certain but I’m thinking some of us are definitely getting bad discs.

Made it through with no issues on the Panasonic UB420, which was something of a surprise as the same player crapped out in the last ten minutes of both From Russia With Love and Goldfinger over the past two nights.

I'm not sure how to contact WAC, but since AV/MZ is who made it then I figured they'd be the next best. They replied to my email, didn't say anything about having me return it for a refund but the person CCed some other people asking if they needed to check it.

Mine is Sony UBP-X700. I've also never had problems like this, anytime something has stalled I'd just wipe it off and it'd play fine. This has been two discs doing the same thing. If it's not working on Xbox either then it isn't a Sony specific problem.

My copy froze at the exact same spot on my OPPO UDP 203, but it played fine on my Panasonic UB9000. I replaced it, and my replacement disc had the same problem - fine on Panasonic but freezes on OPPO.

I also haven't received a reply, but I included all my info in the email so they wouldn't need to. I had no problems playing the entire UHD through on my Panny 820 xtras and all, but I will try it on a Sony this weekend.
