The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022)

I watched this last night and really enjoyed it. I think this film might be of interest to anyone who is raising children. It is very easy to get caught up in one's career and yet at the same time convince oneself that indifference to one's child is acceptable, if not even commendable, if you are completely obsessed with work and tell yourself that you're just doing it for your family.

I thought Cage and Pascal were really good. And the scenery was great, as well.

Blind bought the 4K disc for $10 and finally saw this. Lots of fun, definitely a must-watch for those who like Cage as an actor. He and Pascal are quite a dynamic duo.

Exchange between me and my wife the other night:

Her: "I keep seeing this meme with Nicolas Cage and Pedro Pascal smiling at each other and I need to figure out what movie it's from."

Me: "I have no idea what you're talking about." (googles said meme) "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. It's on Crave. Want to watch it?"

The thing of it is, my wife isn't typically interested in watching movies just because Nicolas Cage is in it, so when the opportunity presents itself, ya need to jump on it immediately. So we watched it over two nights and we had a hoot of a time. The only thing I wasn't sold on was the CGI 90s Nicolas Cage, but that's a minor quibble. Everything else I thought was excellent.

This Unbearable Weight of Nic Cage has some funny moments with the antics of him and Pedro Pascal on their adventure to make a thriller movie. By the end, it turns into a full on action movie and loses some steam with the story but it is winding down and is generally okay.

When they're trying to climb the wall, that was kind of funny, along with when they think they're being followed and Pedro laughs while looking at the other bench with the two spies. The father/daughter conflict was interesting. Only reason I saw it cause it was on

Worth watching for Nicholas Cage, good flick.

Something I really disliked about it was the actress that played Olivia, most of her dialog was just cursing so it got very repetitive and kind of annoying as it didn't add anything of value to the movie.
