Just got back from seeing it a second time. This time I saw it on the Ultrascreen with Dolby Atmos and Cinity Laser 3D. The only showing of its kind all weekend. 3D gets shoved back into a side auditorium and the Ultrascreen goes back to 2D. Wonder what made tonight so special.

Anyways, this is easily the best 3D presentation I have seen in the last 5 years. The added depth was super fantastic you felt like you were in the scene with them. The pop out moments extended past the screen and there were plenty of them. Watching Silver Surfer and Jonny fly around chasing each other up into the atmosphere was a serious high point for the 3D. The Cinity Laser 3D projection also really made the retro futurism color palette pop in the ways the standard 2D didn’t.

I hope this get a 3D Blu overseas somewhere because this is a must own.

I know most people's souls here are consumed with misogynistic hatred of Grace but I wanted to share her review.

She tries to downplay it but it is obvious that she hated the movie.

Which is a very surprising reversal. She's always in the bag for Marvel and usually chides DC. And people expected her to hate Superman because they think Gunn, like them, is consumed with hatred for Grace, so she wouldn't give him a fair review. But she went out of her way to praise it.

And she's a reliable Disney fan, but didn't like this.

I haven't seen I,t but i wonder if there's a warning scene.

I did not like Superman. Will I like this?
(I'll have to pay to see it since I missed the press screening.)

I found it a slight bit above okay. Ben and Sue were great, Johnny was a bit better than expected but Pascal’s Reed is just a big miss for me.

Their use and conclusion of Galactus was incredibly underwhelming. And the whole Silver Surfer choice was…
[Show spoiler]so Johnny could think she’s hot?
Really?

The story and execution were sloppy and had no sense of urgency despite what was happening in the plot or proper depiction of how much time was passing.

Some of the effects shots were among the worst the MCU has ever turned out (which is saying something). Ben talking in the street outside the church early on was quite bad. Galactus looked bad throughout. The abomination of a CGI baby

The 11:00 PM Thursday showing at Harkins Cine1 in Cerritos is nearly sold out. I haven't seen that in a long, long time.

I'd be very surprised if FF4 didn't hit the top of the projections and tracking, which I think I've seen is $110 million or $130 million. $150 million is even in play.

Decent but not fantastic.
[Show spoiler]Galactus was nerfed to hell. He's a space God on the level of the celestials so think Arishem.
So it was a little underwhelming in that regard when it should be epic. Liked the 60s vibe.

4/5

For some reason no opening day showings were in imax 3d so I'll go see it again in that format.

Saw this today.

Once again, the cinema I saw it in had the screen dimmed so it was very hard to see anything.

But, Julia Garner was positively SEXY as the Silver Surfer.

Absolutely loved this.

Worth getting it on 4K for the Galactus scenes alone.

For those who saw it in IMAX, which format did you watch it in?

1.33 : 1(some scenes)
1.43:1(IMAX GT Laser version, some scenes)
1.90 : 1(IMAX Digital & non-GT Laser versions)

And do you think these scenes will make it onto the 4k disc?
Or could these IMAX scenes only be present on barely released 3D discs or Disney+?

This was the situation at the first showing I went to. All through the commercials and previews the image was dim, with washed out colors and milky black levels. I figured they were using a separate, lower res pj for the adverts, as they used to do years ago. When the feature started, and it was more of the same, I got up and went to the box office to change my ticket to the next screen over, whose trailers were just starting.
Huge difference. Colors were vibrant, blacks were inky and everything was so much easier on the eyes. I know I would have been miserable if I'd stuck it out with the other screen.

Another big bonus was changing my seat one row back, which also made it a more comfortable watch.

Saw this last night and was pleasantly surprised. I'm giving Superman a slight edge based on the action scenes and the better tension throughout that movie, but for what it was it was pretty good. I just hope it fits in with the rest of the MCU that makes sense, but we'll see. Best of the three MCU movies this year by far, although that's not a high bar to cross I suppose.

I respectfully disagree.

F4 had better shot action (the Galactus final fight was better than any action scene in Superman) and the tension of building Galactus' arrival on Earth was also executed better.

What a damn good time, loved damn near every second of it, 4.5/5,
[Show spoiler]My only real gripe is I wish we got more Galactus at the end but I knew going in he would be used in a limited amount, but Ineson killed it

I have mentioned it a few times to them by email which they have suggested I do as the manager is always busy but they've never done anything about it.

There's been a few times where I've turned my TV and Blu-ray player on and the picture has appeared dim so I've adjusted the video cable and it fixes it.

Is it a theater chain?
