The Bright Room category was actually comparing all of the TVs in their best "Out Of The Box" mode.
Sony's New 2nd Generation of the XR Processor is the best, and as it should it came in 1st place with evaluating SDR content, which is where upscaling and other important video upscaling comes into play. For the HDR testing the processor does not have to do much. |

I never would have guessed that "Bright Living Room" meant uncalibrated. I thought maybe it had something to do with SDR/ HDR brightness. Your explanation for Sony's processing is plausible, but I would still expect it to excel at HDR processing even if the need for it is less than with SDR. |
