All three segments are very stylish with creepy gothic atmosphere and Boris Karloff is wonderful in The Wurdulak. I prefer the Italian version on the Arrow release but both are great. I have 41 films with Boris in so a few more to collect yet.

I recommend this excellent Karloff documentary. Very good value for money and loaded with extras.

I would say so, especially three Extremes. Three very good shorts from talented directors, including the excellent ‘Dumplings’.

Thank you, I'm definitely interested.

Years ago, (I think it may have been on the Horror Channel when it launched on Sky in around 2003/2004), they ran a series of documentaries on some of the more well known horror stars - ones I recall are Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Vincent Price and Peter Cushing. They were fascinating and I loved watching them. Unfortunately I never recorded them, so this Karloff documentary you recommended would certainly be of interest to me.

Around 1998 I recorded from SKY TV on the Biography Channel onto videocassette several documentaries, I still have one VHS tape that features Bela Lugosi (1995) Boris Karloff (1995) Lon Chaney Jr (1995) Vincent Price (1997) and Peter Lorre (1996) I’m not sure if these are the documentaries you mean.

In my opinion the Voltage Films Karloff documentary is top drawer and much better than the Biography Channel in terms of quality, production, information, Karloff’s family, friends and co-actors reminiscences and a wealth of film clips.

I read that Voltage are planning a Vincent Price documentary too.

They may well be the same documentaries as the ones you mentioned, although I don't recall them talking about their family or friends. If I remember correctly they concentrated more on the films they made and how they got into the film industry in the first place. I guess there were many of these documentaries made over the years, but the one you suggested sounds really good.

Yes the Biography Channel documentary covers mainly film careers.

The Voltage Films documentary has family, Sara Karloff, friends and film experts talking about Boris and his film career. Lots of extra detail and loads of film clips too, it’s the best documentary IMO. There is a thread about it somewhere and more info about the documentary and Voltage Films project can be found here:

I randomly picked the 4K of I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER (1997) for our Saturday night watch....Hadn't seen it since theaters.

Holy crap! I don't know why I've sat on this title for so long.. What an unbelievable transfer! The ATMOS track was all kinds of awesome with plenty of wide channel usage.

I have been very happy with the level of support for these after reading how the upgrade was marginal due to lack of sound engineer application.

I was not very impressed with that movie, and less so with its sequels, but I am always happy when a movie gets a great transfer on disc.

It was better than I remembered it naratively... my daughter really enjoyed it for the mystery mixed in with the slasher backdrop....I was just happy to see something shot on film that looked like film on my setup....The ATMOS reworking was an unexpected bonus!

We ended up watching the sequel right after...a lesser experience on all fronts... but worth being tired today...

It tried to ride the coattail of the far superior Scream, but has a chase sequence for the ages. After Crutzlee’s post, I’m tempted.

This morning I've only bought 2 UHD BDs so far but it's still early.

I borrowed Black Bag on Blu Ray from my local library and realized it was worth a purchase.

Resisted buying Jaws 4 for a long as I could but it's the only thing I could find in Gruv's Shark Sale.
