One of my most wanted titles, saw this in a cinema many years ago. And there's a ton of extras on that disc, too.

DVD BEAVER review of The Music Lovers seems to be the first one at the post:

Somebody PLEASE restore and release Salome's Last Dance (1988) on Blu-ray! I don't understand why this Russell film gets so little love?!

There is (or at least was) an HD (1080p) copy of it floating around on some streaming platform and it's miles better than the DVD, which was somehow out of focus.

That looks pretty good for an old master needs some colour correction (like the awful sub-VHS quality artwork). Has the Artisan logo at the start.

Disc plays no problem on a locked A player.

Amazing cast I have no idea why it's not had some new HD remastering and released by Lionsgate (who have most of the Vestron catalogue) or by one of the boutiques.

Rarewaves still has it for under £11.00 https://www.rarewaves.com/products/8...italian-import

I did a new front & spine:

Better than nothing (from a film magazine) there's very little materials out there like a lot of Russells's work. I wonder if he kept this stuff or just wasn't interested and that's part of the reason for the poor materials.

Altered States marks the second (and very unexpected) Russell title from Criterion, a welcome replacement for the old bare bones Warners disc. I already made a custom cover out of my old DVD using the original poster, so that will definitely be replacing the CC artwork, though.

NEW 4K RESTORATION OF THE FILM, with 2.0 surround DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack
DOLBY VISION/HDR PRESENTATION OF THE FILM
Alternate 5.1 surround DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack
New audio commentary featuring film historian Samm Deighan
Archival interviews with director Ken Russell and actor William Hurt
New interview with special-visual-effects designer Bran Ferren
Trailer
English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing
PLUS: An essay by film critic Jessica Kiang

Salome's Last Dance looked fine on the Criterion Channel when I watched it there, a couple times just before it went away (I'd never seen it before). Pretty sure it was HD quality. It would be nice to have it on blu-ray.
