Seelling BDs? Shoot - might as well give them away!
Sell like other items and list the bluray as free.
Like if you were selling a N.Y. Yankees item thrown in the bluray for free.
That way a buyer will buy your item that everybody else is selling because you are selling at the same price but giving a free bluray.
Plus you could ship then as media mail and get a discount from the post office.

My copy arrived today from Amazon U. S. (Georgia) intact with a slipcover.

I guess I'll just sit on it, unopened until a consensus is reached as to whether or not it has color timing issues.

If anyone cares, here's my very amateur, guerilla style comparison. Rather than grab screenshots, I just used my phone. I thought it'd be more fair taking pictures of the actual screen. But, I lined the camera up as similar as I could with a manual focus of the same kind for each pic.

There might be a slight difference on my display between the two versions, but to my eyes, it's pretty close. Wayyyyy closer than the previous screenshots I've seen would've had me believe. That said, the grain structure in both of them is absolutely beautiful, even the Blu-ray. If you've never owned this movie, the Blu-ray, alone, is worth it!

There is a difference, but seriously, to my eyes, in person, it's so minor. I don't know what was going on with those previous screenshots, but the 4k doesn't look washed out on my display. Both look really great to me. Flame away!!!

Yeah, but say you sell one for $7, shipping is $4.50+, and then eBay’s fees, you’re looking at making $1 and change. Just not worth the time almost.

But, they're paying for the shipping right? I have only sold a few things and it's been a while but aren't the fees like 10%? or has that changed?

Yep, I'm aware, but then if it doesn't work for me, I'll have to sell it off rather than simply returning it.

I got this in the mail today from Amazon, and it was shipped in a package that was way too big, with a huge sticker that was folded on itself like Scotch tape holding it to the floor of the box.

I had to unpeel it very slowly to make sure the slipcover was undamaged. I'm not sure if that's a Shout! Factory thing or an Amazon thing, but it was the most bizarre unboxing of any item I've ever done.

Why on earth would someone pack it that way?

I didn't have a sticker holding it down but I also had it in a box, while Thunderbolts was a the white/blue bubble mailer. Shout recently changed their shipping practice to using boxes, maybe they're mandating retailers use boxes when shipping their products now.

Question

Has Shout ever offered a replacement disc for a blundered up 4K or Blu-ray disc in the past? My set arrived today from Amazon in a huge box with no cushion whatsoever and it remains mint so at least I have that. Given what I have read in this post I will be watching my copy inside the next few days. If I am not happy with it I will do my part in telling Shout my experience. thanks

Fees are more like 15%. Unless you're a wholesaler or have other product to offset the losses, selling a blu ray for less than $10 on Ebay with $4.50 shipping (not including materials to ship), you're not making much on cheap blu rays, if anything at all.

Same. It's getting harder to shift the stuff that everyone's got, or doesn't care about, but there's always something in my line-up that's become rarer over time (or is OOP outright) or wasn't released over here to begin with and that helps to offset the stuff that sells for peanuts. I don't buy to sell, I'm just a serial upgrader so it's just luck whenever x disc becomes more sought-after over time, but I'll take it!

I be wondering if the HDR10 layer has this colour 'problem' but the DV output fixes it?

ok, so if you sell it for $7, you make $5.95. They're paying the shipping fee, unless you decide to list it as free shipping.

Still gotta buy the packing materials. Most people don't have that stuff lying around. That's the kind of unseen expense people don't pay attention to, and it really shouldn't be looked at in relation to shipping cost, because just to ship something Media Mail nowadays is nearly $5 with the weight and dimensions. Unless you're buying in bulk, you're looking at spending nearly the cost of the movie in tape, a padded envelope or box, and maybe some bubble wrap or packing peanuts if you're using a box, or you could reuse paper.

For me, personally, I'd rather just keep a disliked film if it's value on the secondhand market is less than $10 on Ebay. That's my own personal threshold.
