It's probably just Amazon UK updating the listing. Blu-ray.com still shows a release date of Aug. 25th.

I do wonder what people will do when they inevitably lose their collection as vod businesses are decided to be none profitable. My guess would be the high seas to take back what they feel like they already owned.

Most of the disagreement on digital is a legal question of ownership, duplication and who should have to store the files.

The problem is the duplication laws are a mess of grey leaning toward legal for physical media and leaning toward black for digital. If digital had never come about I think we would have better laws allowing duplication at this point. Giving everyone a temporary digital copy was kind of a way to avoid legal changes the studios did not want imo.

People thinking they own access to an online movie is funny but also sad. I also feel like harsh penalties for piracy will become common again as the studios want total control of content. Just look at Switch 2 for an example. Nintendo perma bricked people's new hardware if they messed around.

Managed Copy is supposed to be in the BD specs but no studio ever offered MC because there was never any hardware made available to utilize the feature.

There are other online stores in the U.K. that sell discs aren't there? Check to see if one of them has it listed. If so, then it is very likely that Amazon is just updating their listing albeit slowly.

I finished watching the series Weeds last night; I had a lot of fun with that show over the last couple of weeks, but it is time now to shift gears.

I think I will watch and as either a double feature tonight or over two consecutive nights; I have never seen the latter.

I need a suggestion as to what series to start next. It can be any genre, but it needs to be really good.

CAUTION OT Post

My Yamaha CX-A5100 AVP is almost ten years old and Yamaha no longer makes AVP’s, only AVR’s . If my AVP should ever become unrepairable what would I do. As of now my top choice replacement would be the Emotiva RMC-1+ (here). For me, the main negative of the RMC-1+ is no audio streaming apps so I was looking at outboard audio streamers. For some really overpriced hardware have a look here.

It appears the WiiM Ultra (here) will do most of what my Yamaha AVP can do. To add to what the Yamaha does I have a 7" Android tablet with Hearts of Space app, YT music app and Bubble UPnP app on it. The WiiM also has vTuner (here) which I lost with last AVP update.

Got the Before Trilogy today.

Watched most of the first movie, it's very engaging. I think this is a big example of the kind of movie that I would miss out on, if I weren't engaged with buying physical media.

I know that I can rent it on Apple TV and various other places. But when I only had streaming, I wasn't engaged enough to seek out these kinds of movies. We would just watch whatever we had available on Netflix/Hulu/etc.

It just feels a little more special to be able to take ownership in a literal sense, but also in a metaphorical sense. You need to take ownership of finding things that interest you. You're not just given 1000 categorized suggestions, like you have on Netflix. Which can make it more daunting to have to find things, but I really enjoy it - I also find it very daunting to look through 1000 suggestions on Netflix, so...

I didn't know that Nintendo made AVPs.

Is this the remote?:

Seems like you would need more buttons. I guess that's where the nunchuk comes to the rescue.

I would pop in Bates Motel next. Vera and Freddie absolutely kill it in their roles.

Let us know how Sorcerer was please.

David Gilmour on Blu Ray with lossless ATMOS is one of my favorite things.

There's bad/lazy cover art for spectacular films and then there's this.

I only caught a few random episodes of The X Files from different seasons when it was first aired and the odd repeated episode so It’s a wonderful catch up that I’m doing now. I bought this boxset in February and I’m currently up to season 4 of this fabulous TV series.

Another TV series I’d recommend is True Detective, season 1 is the best IMO.

High Res Audio continues to exist while some people claim if they can't hear the difference no one can hear the difference. It's standard on Android devices simply because they don't cripple the device via software and available as an add on with Apple via a Digital to Analog Converter.

Apple finally added “lossless” and “high–res” audio formats to Apple Music this summer — but it also admitted that AirPods and other Bluetooth headphones — can’t actually play these high–quality audio formats.

If you want the best possible audio quality from Apple Music or any other streaming service, then Apple recommends using wired headphones or speakers, along with an additional device known as a DAC, or “digital–to– analogue–converter”. Using a DAC can be a little fiddly, though, so here’s our roundup of the best DACs that are suitable for use with Apple devices.

I'm having a blast with my A1H. The last DIRAC module (ART) will be available in October although honestly, my experimentation with the FREE A1 EVO (ACCOUSTICA) has yielded incredible results. There are many that have the present DIRAC offering and report getting preferable results with the free program.

The guy I bought the AVR from had turned off all the amps and was using it as a processor to feed his separates.. I'm essentially braking the amp section in..I may look into that type of setup when I build the final "retirement" home cinema but I can't imagine any benefit in my current space.

I know 15 channels under one roof seems like it wouldn't work.... but it has been a very clear improvement for me where I had offloaded my front LCR albeit to the amp section of a previous very capable receiver. My rack looks empty now. The A1H has had me ditch the 2 receivers and cabling for 4 subs through a miniDSP.

At a whopping 75 lbs, I was a little scared placing on the top shelf of my tempered glass stand...but so far, any shattered glass I've heard has come from a soundtrack..:
