There's only one transfer and one encode of it, no additional re-done versions exist that I'm aware of.

Yes. Same master was used for each Anniversary edition, but it’s better encoded on the 40th due to being on a BD-100 whereas the 35th was on a BD-66. In motion though, the differences between the two are almost negligible.

So, I was wrong about this! It does have a different encode. However, the difference is a measly 0.46Mbps overall total bitrate. They went with a BD-100 because of the added extras it looks like. The difference is barely noticeable; you get slightly slightly less blocks on a smeary old master. Compression still nothing to write home about. Not worth paying any extra for, but if you have to have it then whatever.

No idea what you're asking. The BD-100 edition is in the comparison I linked above. There's not another variant out there, this is it.

I was asking what the UK release is? The 35th and 40th anniversary editions are only called so on the covers of the US releases. The UK release was released 35 years after the films relesse but is listed here as being a BD100 like the US 40th anniversary release.

So despite being released 35 years after the film, even though 35th ann isn't anywhere on the case, does the fact its using a BD 100 mean it has the slight improvement as the US 40th anniversary edition?

They're the same BD-100 disc. There is no other BD-100 variant. Again, check out the comparison; it's not an improvement at all in any perceptible way.

So the UK released a BD 100 version in 2017 at a time when the US released a BD66, then in 2022 for the 40th anniversary the US released it in a BD 100 and you think it's obvious the UK release released 5 years prior had a higher bitrate, and according to some, slightly less artefacts?.

Well at least I now know the UK version which is in the 3 for £50 at HMV and has better artwork is as good transfer wise as the US 40th...eventually.

The 2017 UK disc is not a BD-100, the listing on this site needs to be fixed. The BD-100 re-encode is the 2022 disc. All you had to do was ask if the site is right, it's not. This was news years ago. lmao
