I have a question...
If you can play PS3 games on the PSP (such as "Fat Princess"), then can you earn trophies for that title? My guess is no, but just wondering if there has been any discussion about this.

The PSP and PS3 version of Fat Princess are two different games - so the answer should be no.

I don't think there are any true new games that play on both (most are PS1 games).

I believe the reason that there are no trophies for the PSP is that it would be easy to hack (and devalue), so I doubt we'd ever see the ability to have the PSP count trophies for the PS3.

You can play it on your PSP from your PS3 via Remote Play. (At least, you should be able to.)

Yeah so for games that you can remote play do you think they will have trophy support? Pixeljunk Monsters has remote play right? So does that mean you can get trophies with it?

If I remember correctly, yes, you can earn trophys on titles with trophy support while doing Remote Play.

Sorry its just that I sold my PSP a few months ago and waiting for my PSP Go to arrive.

Yeah, but if you are doing remote play you are really playing your PS3 through your PSP - you're not actually playing a game sitting on your PSP and getting trophies.

Edit: I was assuming the person asking was asking about the PSP version of Fat Princess, but looking back I may have misunderstood. But yeah, I'd imagine if you were remote playing the PS3 version that you you would earn trophies as usual. Is the PS3 version of Fat Princess even usable with remote play? (I still haven't broken down and bought it, but that would probably push me over the edge. )

I think that the entire conversation is full of confusion and mismatched facts.

I think most of us have come to the conclusion that since you're really controlling your PS3 from your PSP, that means you can get trophies. About the Fat Princess thing yeah I didn't even know there was a PSP version so sorry about that confusion. I just meant to make an example of a PS3 game that uses remote play and has trophies.

So does anyone know for sure if Fat Princess is usable via Remote Play? I know not every PSN game works through remote play, so I'd be interested if this one does.

My first choice was white but decided to go with black because I noticed the white had sparkles when near the light based on few pics and vids.

I think black looks sleek.

Any news on the UMD goodwill program? Or the new version of MediaGo (specifically the Mac version)?

Given that the Go hits stores in a little over 2 weeks, Sony is surprisingly quiet.

I don't think that a mac version will ever exist.

Douche bags.

PSP Go refused by game retailer

http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/16/p...uster-fiddles/

Do you run a brick-and-mortar store that primarily sells media? Yeah? Then lean in real close, we've got a little trend that you may have overlooked. The physical media you carry -- be it films, music, or games -- is going digital and moving on-line for direct-to-consumer downloads. Still, Dutch gaming-house Nedgame has a statement on its website saying it will not be selling the UMD-less PSP Go. It lists six reasons framed in a way that makes them sound like they're fighting for the rights of the consumer. However, as a seller of gaming media that boasts two new store openings on its home page, the primary beef likely stems from the shop's inability to sell physical media to the download-only PSP Go. Maybe a search on the tag Blockbuster could help with expansion planning?

I seem to recall Shin-Ra or Max mentioning it was coming. After all, Sony is trying to compete with Apple in the portable games department. It only makes sense to be OS X-friendly.

Their points are all valid. As more and more games go UMD-less, it'll effectively kill the secondary market for PSP games. You won't be able to sell your old games off, and you'll be stuck paying Sony's MSRP in most cases for new games.

But this retailer is silly for not carrying it. Also, as we've seen with Patapon 2, all-digital PSP games can still be sold new at retail, in the form of empty cases containing voucher codes. (Or, ya know, "go green" and just sell a sealed card minus the whole plastic case.)

How to get your free copy of Gran Turismo from October 1st-10th in SCEE countries.

Play.com's selling both the Black and White PSP go for £199.99 now.

They've also got a couple different case designs (also available in pink )

Could do with some higher res pics out of the packaging.

edit: Amazon has better pics of the black/white leather SLIP case. Can't see detail on the black properly so here's the white:

maybe i'll borrow my brothers original psp and play ff7 on that. it'll work right?
