My first superhero comic. (If I remember correctly…)

I used to get this, Captain America, and Ghost Rider.

It's not a put down to say the 2005 movie was liked and made good money.
The 2005 movie had the advantage of a five month window before the DVD(!) came out.
These new movies only get 3. To me, that's a big difference. If I had to wait 5 months to buy these modern movies, I'd be pretty annoyed.

No the extended cut got a US release!
To you it is. To me the 2005 is the better movie. And I am not shocked it dropped as much as it did. I gave the movie 2.5 out of 5. I would tell anyone to wait to stream it if asked. Unfortunately like many have said these are not "event" movies anymore like years past.

How anyone could give this movie a 2.5/5 is truly beyond me. As for "event movies", why is that now a necessary standard? Have we really become so jaded, that anything under 3 hours with less than 20 main characters is deemed inferior?

Brave New World Order was almost unwatchable and I loathe Deadpool & Wolverine. The only good thing about it was the opening credits, Hugh Jackman and Emma Corrin.

Why? It's a movie, just like any other. Some people love it, others hate it or think it's perfectly mediocre. What's so hard about it to understand?

Some people don’t get the magic, and possibly never will.

Exactly. One of the best films I’ve ever seen theatrically was Apollo 13. I saw it on a huge screen and found it awe-inspiring… absolutely stunning. The bloke a few rows in front walked out after an hour.

Tastes vary.

First, there is no merit whatsoever to the "it's only a movie" excuse. Regardless of the form, every story seeks to touch the mind or the heart in some way. Relating to the characters is what keeps us coming back to them.

Secondly, while personal taste is always subjective, high quality is objective. I don't think anyone can say that most of Marvel's output in the past 17 years hasn't had a ton of constructive effort put into it. And even before that there was the non-cohesive stuff, from the first "Blade" all the way to "Dark Phoenix". A lot of that was very well done, too - ones of my faves from that period is the 2004 version of "The Punisher".

If you think 2.5 for this is bad, 1 star for Thunderbolts should fill you with murderous rage.

I like what I've seen from the trailers so far, and it has a 93% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. So regardless of the critics, it seems most of the general public enjoyed it - I'm hoping to as well.

Why don't you ask him if he knows anyone who didn't see it, but gave it a 1-star review on the thread.

Go ahead, ask him

I guess this is you attempting to have some kind of gotcha moment.

Because you are SO right!! . No one has ever given a DC movie one star without seeing it. Ffs.
