Right, and one HUGE point here is that a generic AI model won't work that well for specific video purposes like this. Specific training with the IP is crucially important to assure good quality and matching the likeness of characters from movies and TV we know.

On the other hand, Amazon could have a Star Wars trained model, Pixar trained model, Marvel trained model, etc. Each model would pour over all of hours of content for those universes, so that when you enter a prompt for one of the universes the resulting video will look exactly like what you'd expect it to, instead of it being "off".

Here's my question. Why are Disney and other movie studios allowing Amazon (and its users) to tamper with their creations?
Because they will get a cut of both the subscription and every play of the tampered creation. Disney hasn't exactly been successful with Star Wars lately, for instance, so this is a new monetization avenue. Plus Amazon might be giving them upfront cash, too.

Also, just like Disney used to all their content to Netflix, they can pull the IP in the future just like they did with Netflix. This allows Disney to see if Amazon is successful ,and if so in the far future build their own AI video platform and integrate it into Disney+.

What happens if you decide to combine characters from two or more universes? For example, what if I asked it to pit Carrie White against Neo from "The Matrix" and have them fight it out using only their telekinetic abilities? Would the system allow me to do that? Would both MGM and Warner Brothers benefit from the result?

See, now that would be fun content that I am sure would generate tons of clicks and revenue.

The barriers to this would be:
1) your stated cross-licensing issues from different studios
2) whether the studios have obtained likeness rights for the specific character's actor/actress' usage in AI generated content - which the most famous stars are already copyrighting, as they know this is the next frontier in digital entertainment.

But if these barriers were overcome, it is just left to the imagination what kind of interesting stuff one could cook up, with the studio making a profit off the IP usage that otherwise would be sitting their dormant.
