I found a physical copy of "Casablanca" at my local Barnes And Noble today in the new release section after doing a zip code check for my area. I had done an online search as I was confused over conflicting information because Amazon says it's no longer available and Amazon Canada says 2-4 weeks.
It looks like Best Buy only has the movie online for order. You can order the copy online from Barnes And Noble as well. Is this the same movie that was posted as being a new release on this site as it looks exactly the same. |

Not that confusing when you understand how Bestbuy.com works like I do. Ok if you see a release that's coming out very soon or is already out on the website and the sku starts with a 1 then Best Buy stores will refuse to sell it. It's their secret filtering program that I had to find out the hard way.

I see it all of the time since after all I am a frequent anime dvd and Blu-ray shopper for Best Buy. And I can see that all of the anime I want with the SKU that starts with a 1 never goes to Best Buy stores and yet every release that doesn't start with a 1 does. It's not just anime either since I see it on non-anime as well including even cds.

Wherehouse.com is selling it for 20.29...plus if you find more blus to buy (most of their pre-orders have prices comparable or sometimes cheaper than Amazon) to bring your order total over $50, you can take 20% off your entire order plus have free shipping (tax does apply though) with promo code FSSEPT20.
this would bring the movie down to $16.23 ![]() Last edited by Sussudio; 09-20-2009 at 08:22 PM. |

Barnes and Noble had it for 28.99 and then has their regular 10% off making it 26.09. Got another 10% off for being a member and paid 23.48. Since I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get it anytime soon from reading this site and the mass confusion about it, I just bought it. I avoid this store unless it's something I can't find anywhere else.
I wasn't sure about the availabilty of the movie so I just ate the cost. |

I went to Walmart, Target and Best Buy. No one had the single disc version. Best Buy had the box set only. I finally found it at B&N as well.
For now on, if the movie is not current, I am going to order online. It seems the stores are only going to carry recent theater releases. Blu-ray shelf space keeps shrinking at the major retailers. |
