That’s gonna be annoying if these companies start strong arming each other to deprive of us of choice.

This is only an issue for people who don't import and/or only stick with certain retailers. If you're not part of that group, the choice is there.

I try to stick with retailers if I can.

Potentially interesting development. It looks like Amazon are PM'ing Shout's direct sales now. Shout has a new Steelbook sale, and Amazon have now matched the price on many of them. They never matched direct sales before as far as I know. This could be great whenever SF does a big sale like their Shocktober or Select ones.

Too bad I'm not participating in anymore sales this year as I'm taking a long 5 month break from buying anymore Blu-Rays. As I would really want to get Slap Shot, My Bloody Valentine, Perfect Blue, and the Last Unicorn steelbooks from this sale oh well. No biggie got too many titles to watch that I haven't gotten to yet.

"Unhinged" is a little extreme but okay. Becoming disillusioned with a label is a matter of opinion and choice developed over time. You don't share my opinion or my choice, and I'm okay with that.

TCM 3 confirmed to be coming on 4k, the question is, from Shout or Arrow?

Given Shout haven't released a 'new' WB acquisition (that wasn't directed by Oliver Stone) for a long time now, it's almost certainly Arrow.

Where was this mentioned btw?

If it was even at the level at the ones I mentioned and a whole list of others, don't you think it would of gotten more distribution, marketing, and traction with a wider audience?

If it wasn't exactly a hit upon release, like a decent horror film like 'Session 9', don't you think it would be more popular by now and have a home video release in print?

Good movies find a wider audience and word of mouth over time, bad movies don't.
I dont have rental numbers on Carnosaur but considering its release was poised right around Jurassic Park, I think it did well enough...considering they went ahead and made 2 sequels. The original is one of the most often requested cult films on this board, and if Shout or Full Moon ever released it on blu it would sell. The series last home video releases was a trilogy DVD release in 2001, which goes exactly to my point, its been OOP and out of circulation so how is it supposed to grow anymore audience when its not out there, and yet despite that Carnosaur is still remembered and talked about on forums like these to this day. Good is always subjective with films...we're specifically talking cult films here, companies like Vinegar Syndrome and Severin have built entire companies on what the public at large might consider "trash" or "schlock" cinema, what you said has nothing to do with these films finding an audience. Films like Carnosaur and Nightlife have RIGHTS and potentially film elements issues, not a lack of demand issue as super obscure films that never made a dime at the box office or on home video are announced on practically a weekly basis. For all we know the Carnosaur films on VHS and DVD did more business than the critically acclaimed Session 9.

TCM 3 was briefly mentioned during the YouTuber Planet CHH's recent chat with a "WB Insider" who was on to discuss the Elm Street box set.

regarding Oliver Stone's it is interesting that Shout is fast tracking his films to 4K and so close together in release. Which leaves just:

Any Given Sunday
Heaven and Earth
U-Turn
Talk Radio
Wall Street & WS: Money Never Sleeps (of course these are w/Disney so unless Sony puts them out)
Snowden

That's as reliable a "confirmation" as an announcement by DiscFather or whatever that joker is calling himself now. I'm still not 100% convinced that "WB Insider" is real.

While Shout is at it, go ahead and re-do Platoon.

Now we’re going down a slippery slope with unverifiable things like ‘cult films’, what’s in demand, and like you said what’s ‘good’ is a personal opinion.

I would wager that the Carnosaur pic’s aren’t going to be on Shout’s or Arrow’s list because the even smaller market for them compared to what they already put out. Carnosaur wouldn’t sell more copies for shout than say, Pacific Heights or the upcoming Catch-22(first blu ray release) or End of Days or even something like the hills have eyes remake.

You raised a point that is true which is that how could it find an audience in the first place without something like a dvd in circulation. VS and Severin(among other labels) are even more niche than Shout with the occasional exception. Shout wouldn’t release most of what VS and Severin put out with some exceptions.

I want the Carnosaur movies. While we're at it, I'll take the Corman Fantastic Four movie, as well. C'mon Shout.

Quite a few of the Shout site exclusive titles, which includes the likes of the pretty awful Creepshow III, I’d argue are quite a bit less desired than the Carnosaur movies. I’m excited to watch Deathstalker I&II which are on the way, but I’m significantly less knowledgeable of those than Carnosaur from growing up, and those are getting a pretty nice 4K treatment from Shout. The main thing that I don’t think makes Shout as likely as another boutique is that supposedly there are some more complicated rights issues, but it’d be a solid seller for Shout if they did get it.

It's whatever, I like my share of camp and stuff that isn't 'good' in the sense of the classics but for one reason or another it's entertaining.

I was basically saying that I would be skeptical these types of pic's on average would sell better than the pic's with more prestige. Impossible to know without seeing the numbers, though.

'Octopus', 'Octopus 2: River of Fear', Tobe Hooper's 'Crocodile' and 'Toolbox Murders' are practically in camp territory and no blu-ray.
