Probably not for a long, long time, if ever, based on what the ShoutFactortOffical said many pages back, like in June.

Your best bet at this time is ViaVisions's release (Austraila) of Firestarter and Firestarter Rekindled box set. Not 4K, but as for Rekindled, it's the only Blu-ray available worldwide (upscaled), and has been for some time now. I have it and it looks great.

https://viavision.com.au/shop/firest...e-6-art-cards/

Cheers!

EDIT: It's also available from diabolikDVD here in the US.

Cheers again!

Lionsgate doesn't license to Shout Factory, or barely anyone for that matter. They are the most difficult major studio as far as licensing has goes, and unfortunately also are one of the studios with the biggest collections of horror titles.

Echo Bridge went defunct in 2021. I read up on it, and interestingly some of their library including those titles went to FilmRise, and Shout's parent company actually just acquired them. So I suppose there's now a possibility of SF actually releasing these films afterall.

You can see those, and many others in this entry with SF seemingly getting rights:

I bought a DVD for Crocodile II that was released in May. It's DVD-R and says SP Releasing on the spine but has Echo Bridge on the back. They released a small number of titles from that catalog earlier this year.

Yes, EB was folded into SP Releasing in 2021. It's possible FilmRise only has digital rights of some of EB's library and no physical rights? Shout's parent company, Oaktree Capital Management announced the FilmRise acquisition in July. The copyright link I posted above is an intellectual property assignment, so I would think that gives SF rights to the films, but again, perhaps just digitally.

Possibly was carried over from their older deal. EB released a few Nu Image movies to Blu-ray in the late 2010's, but they ghosted out soon after those.

I don't really see Shout releasing these types of films anyway. I was legit when I asked for a site exclusive Sharktopus set. Bad CGI monsters are too niche.

Believe it or not, Disney was actually world's better than Lionsgate when it came to licensing titles. At one point Kino licensed 200 of their films.

Do you think Disney will ever let us get The Rocketeer and Dick Tracy on 4k? Those are big time titles that I would love in 4k glory.

Disney has more or less stopped licensing now aside from some one-off deals with Criterion. But you never know if things will change again. I do think both of those feel like stuff Disney might consider putting out themselves one day. The Rocketeer also ahs its 35th anniversary next year too.

Good news. If they release ‘Octopus’, maybe someone will be able to figure out how the protagonist got out of the submarine at the end and get back to me with an answer.

Anyone know who has the film rights to Mile Flanagan's Oculus? Relativity Media went bankrupt so it would have had to be sold off. This would be a good one for Scream Factory to try to get a hold of

I wonder if Flanagan got the rights back, similar to Hush? It's definitely a title that would be perfect for Shout, and it would sel really well too.
