Iced Americano is the bomb. I've admittedly had 4 this week since Sunday. And the week isn't over...

I have the opposite problem, probably too many miles in the gym from training heavy up from my late teens until my early 50s (55 next Thurs). I can't do that anymore with exception to partial deadlifts (aka rack pulls) which I can still load up the bar. The joints are otherwise squeakin' lol. But fortunately I can still train moderately.

And now I'm gonna have to watch that movie. Bought it I think a couple of years ago on UHD and it hasn't made it out of the case.
Happy early birthday dude!

My joints feel the stress....especially the elbows and my shoulders. I am very aware of my technique (lower shoulders, elbows in, etc...) yet they always are slow to rebound. I am sure you could still embarrass me rather easily in the gym.

I have added mass gainer to my routine, so that is an extra 1700 calories and 60g of protein a day. I am around 3700-4300 calories a day, with 10g of creatine too. I met my fiance the same week I started to hit the gym (November)...she has seen me go from 144 to 184....needless to say, she loves what her eyes see!

Thanks! And damn, you are Unbreakable. I couldn't tolerate the sugar from a gainer these days. And 10g of Creatine? That would send me to the restroom every hour, I keep it at 3g these days as a maintenance dose.

Awesome job on the physique front!

Understandable, but afterward you get all the cake and ice cream you want. It helps with the bulking up process in the off season.

I don't remember the last time I've had one, they're the devil. I only drink water, beer, wine, liquor then Advanced Pedialyte.

Oh right, I didn't intend to imply that. I just meant coffee specifically. Just about everyone I know in this field - except that guy I mentioned - drinks coffee by the bucket.

Pre-1984 both Coke and Pepsi still used cane sugar as their sweetener for their non-diet sodas, although Coke started using a cane sugar and high fructose corn syrup blend as early as 1980 in an apparent attempt to transition its customers to sodas sweetened entirely with high fructose corn syrup.

Coke imported from Mexico is sweetened with real cane sugar. It typically comes in 4-packs of 12 oz. glass bottles, which I buy regularly. These sell for $6.87- $8.19 here where I live or for $2 a bottle when sold separately. I also buy imported Sprite and Fanta Orange, both made with cane sugar, but these are only available as single bottles here.

There is also Kosher Coke identified by their green bottle caps. It, too, is made with cane sugar, but it is only offered in certain markets and at certain times.

Coke has now agreed to use cane sugar to sweeten a new version of Coke that has yet to be named; it is expected to be on the market this fall. However, like with Pepsi Throwback, Coke will continue to offer its usual high fructose corn syrup version.

"the new offering would "complement" Coca-Cola's core portfolio of drinks, suggesting it could arrive as an alternative, rather than a replacement, for its flagship Coke product."

https://www.npr.org/2025/07/22/nx-s1...e-trump-recipe

Pepsi Throwback is sweetened with cane sugar and it is priced exactly the same as its high fructose corn syrup counterpart, but it is not available in all markets. The nearest stores that offer it are 90 miles away from my home; I sometimes pick some up on my way home from my medical appointments in St. Louis.

Even though Pepsi Throwback is cheaper, about $7.92 for a 12-pack of 12 oz. cans, I much prefer the imported Coke from Mexico. Coke tastes better, in my opinion.

Relax & chill day and watch the Yankees lose again.

Had a late bfast & cooked up a 3-egg omelette stuffed with corned beef hash.

Eating a late lunch (sandwich and chips). I just finished cutting the grass, so now I'm eating some lunch and trying to cool off. I'm very hot-natured and get hot very easily, even if the temps are down in the 40s or even lower. Hell, I can sweat if I'm working and it's close to freezing temps. It sucks, but I deal with it.

Just got back from helping my son move into his new house, and in the sweltering August weather to boot. Now I'm plopped on the couch under the fan with the AC going, sipping a strawberry shake. 28 Days Later just popped up, I've never seen it so I'm going to start that. That's probably going to be the rest of my weekend, relaxing and binging the sequels as well. Been a long week...

Have you tried the orange creamsicle Cokes? They are amazing.

You only get to live this life once. Why spend it being miserable? If you like soda and fast food then eat it. It's not the end of the world. Just be sure not to overdo it. I mean drinking beer isn't much healthier than sodas or fast food. I love soda, sugary cereals, and all the bad stuff. I look at it this way. If those are my only vices, that's not a bad thing. At least it's not crack, coke, Ike, or Tina.

Yeah, but that don't matter to gym rats. Gym rats have to get their pumps in every day just about. Don't matter if they're on "vacation" or at "Disney World". They are a scary breed sometimes.
