If it is any consolation, the new Denon DVD-A1UDCI Universal (CD, DVD, SACD/DVD-A, BD) player is listed for $4,500.00.
 The most recent issue of the Home Theater Magazine had a raving review of it. I have no doubt that it is a great player, but I would rather buy the new Oppo BDP-83 universal player for $499 and spend the rest of the $4,000 on other things. Marginal improvement in sound or picture is not worth $4,000.
