As I wrote over in the WEAPONS UHD thread, I'm trying not to get too juiced over the hype as that usually just leads to disappointment when I eventually get to see this at the first streaming opportunity.

Because I don't care about packaging (or extras for that matter), I'm not worrying about pre-ordering or missing out on the steelbook. I'll gladly take the standard which I'm glad to see is getting a 4K release right out of the gate.

Pre ordered 4K, I want my first experience to be the best quality. I’m so hyped for this.
Also hyped for Oddity, The Coffee Table, When Evil Lurks, Smile 2, Sinners, Caveat, Dangerous Animas, and Bring Her Back.

Weapons met my expectations if that helps. I quite enjoyed it. Very well shot, the acting was top notch and some good scares (even if some were cheap jump scares.) In my top 5 of the year at the moment.

Oddity, When Evil Lurks, Smile 2 and Sinners are all top notch horror. Waiting anxiously for Bring Her Back to hit streaming since I missed it in theatres.

Been a good couple of years for horror. Looking forward to the next Scream in February.

I watched The Surfer on 4K disc yesterday and what a film. It was not what I was expecting and the 4K picture and Atmos soundtrack was epic. Julian McMahon is in this in one of his last roles. It's a Lionsgate Limited release.

As others have mentioned, this is one of the pitfalls of streaming. The show Courage the Cowardly Dog is no longer available to stream after HBO Max removed it from their platform.

Physical: Yours forever unedited, watch whenever you want

Streaming: Can be removed any time. Some shows are edited such as shortened or cut out scenes

It's all Digital, the Movie or TV Show can all be edited. The Disc you have may not be edited, but the newer ones can be. So don't think your Disc will last forever if you want the latest version. Disc and Streaming are Stored on Servers!

Disc is stored in my home, and the content can’t be altered. Streaming is anti film. Cuts, censors, studios listening too much to the latest ‘outraged’ snowflakes, etc..

It’s a cesspit.

Digital or not the discs we own can not be edited as you correctly said. The latest version you speak of could happen to be the one you can't get access to like Song of the South or Star Wars. Maybe someone wants the original version which can still be hard to find but is sometimes an option.

No news here you understand some of what we are talking about. And you try to ignore the parts that don't serve you.

Phrases like “It's all Digital” and “Stored on Servers” may impress his circle of friends but posting here only servers to make the poster look like a , really .

Have tried to explain to poster that documents, databases, music, etc. may be in binary (digital) form and stored on servers but the binary contents are completely different therefore the phrase “It's all Digital” is meaningless. Same with storage, binary data does not care where it is stored as long as it can be retrieved without errors.

I'm really not on one side or the other, but as a person who hates shifting aspect ratios, I've yet to see this abomination affect streaming presentations...

I have a pretty decent work around with the masking option on my projector and my non standard 2.20:1 ratio screen but I wish this trend would go away on disc..

Wendell you're "Meaningless," you get backed into a corner and you start name Calling. Digital or Binary it's a File that is Stored on a Server. You're smart enough to know that the Source File to make that Disc or Streaming Movie or TV Show is what is used. Call it what you want, but it's a Digital File Stored on a Server!

Just shifting backgrounds to put up with on digital, even on static scenes sometimes. Got to love those dancing pixels!

I hardly ever buy movies at Walmart, as there usually isn't anything interesting for me.

This is more than I've gotten there in the entire past year.
