Was surprised to see that they also have stores in Malaysia, but the one I went to in Kuala Lumpur only sold tech and a small selection of videogames. No films. I compared a few switch games prices, seemed to be same prices as in the UK

The one that was cleaning said to his colleage can you help the man but no answer after 15 minutes i put the staple down and left.
It baffles me one you have to give money and another that want to spend money they don't care or they are fill in the blanks.
Pfffff worthless.

Since all stores are closed you can only buy stuff online. But every single item has a shipping price of €3,50, even if you buy €140 worth of blurays!
Look at this, €98 shipping charges for a €144 order.

Yeah this is the same as in Britain, always £2.95 even if you could get them from the same shop.

I guess its partially them pricing in the free returns (with free postage).

I’ve just adjusted my brain, I automatically add the £2.95 in my head when I look at their prices

I think it's €3.50 per item here in Ireland as well, but I've figured out that when you buy an item and arrange to collect in your local shop (where the website says it's in stock) and they don't have it (can't find the disc ir whatever) they'll deliver it free of charge if it's in stock elsewhere.

Yeah but all stores are closed in The Netherlands, so pickup isn't a option. You would think it's all in one warehouse and shipping in one big box should be a option, wouldn't even mind paying for that big box.

Oh well.. nothing to do about it.

I don’t know how often they do this but it appears in the past week or so they’ve updated a lot of their prices. Some of the stuff I’m considering went up a couple quid, some went down.

The prices they pay to us on the other hand seem to have all gone down. Typical.

CeX's prices for Blu-rays have gotten silly both for selling and buying. There 's still the odd buying bargain I got a like new Criterion Boat People for £10.95 delivered. I have also noticed they've removed items from their database ie you can't sell it to them online and take it to their shop.

I've always taken cheap Blu-rays to the charity shop but recently I've taken more valuable stuff as CeX have no listing. And when I say valuable I mean £2.50.

As for DVDs they do have some great prices so I always check.

I bought an eero 7 Max router off them yesterday like mint still boxed £350.00. That goes for £380-£420 on eBay but with CeX you get a 5 year warranty.

They're my fist point of call for technology.

I tend to find they’re best value for OOP stuff actually when it comes to blu-rays. Like the saving on an in-print 4K will be marginal at best - although eBay prices for those seem to have all gone up, and its not just the new fee cause they went up in the brief period of no fees too - but I got the OOP Eureka Hou Hsiao-Hsien set for £20ish when it goes for £50 on eBay

If they’ve not got it listed online does that mean you can’t get a price in the shop either? I’ve never sold to them so not sure how it works

I think it would take them time to price it & add it to the system with price etc. Think I had that problem once years ago with something.

Makes sense, I can’t imagine they like to give their staff any autonomy on these things

Some of the things CEX does boils my p**s, but they are one of the only high street vendors that has a good disc inventory, so i'll still use them.

I buy up quite a few discs at boot sales and trade to CEX, so i usually have some vouchers kicking around which i save for specific stuff. Irritates me that if you do a bulk online order, you are charged for postage on each disc, which mounts up. Even if they're shipped together.

Saying that, my previous job had me travelling all round the UK, so i'd always check out the nearby CEX. I've had some really good and rare buys in there in the past.

Just seen elsewhere that the CEX in Stourbridge has closed down. It's the first time I've heard of a CEX actually closing.
The one in Birmingham apparently has a large section that sells baby clothes now, which seems very odd.
The slow death of physical media is starting to affect them it would appear.

I hope they're thoroughly washed

On a serious note if it's a franchise maybe they got permission off the franchisor (CeX).

Poundland done that with clothes (Pepco) and it really helped their business. Not.

Can't blame them trying to keep their business going.

I would really miss CeX especially on the tech front.

I was in Birmingham last Monday with my kids and as we exited Cex there was somebody squatting right outside the door taking a ****!

Not sure if they were desperate or if it was just a dirty protest at the customer service.

No idea, do they sell Yuletide Logs?

Just an observation, I wouldn't be ordering any Deliveroo around Brum City Centre as he jumped straight back onto his bike without any kind of clear up after dropping the offending deuce.

Quite the sight, especially right in front of my kids and many others. There was at least one person filming it on their phone so prob on YouTube somewhere

That's probably the most wholesome thing that's happened at a CeX all year.

Think I can count myself lucky that I wasn't there that day.
Not too far away though, I did visit the CEX in Worcester about 5 months or so ago, and noticed that it had massively downsized. It used to have a whole upstairs section for dvds and BDs, but last visit the upstairs was closed down, and the dvds/BD were relegated to a small area on the ground floor.
