I remember when steelbooks used to have titles on the cover.

This likely will have either one of the plastic slipcovers as is more or less Lionsgate standard, and that would likely have the title on it, and some other image overlay that could help with that sense of dread. Alternatively this could be contained within some larger box with even more art like Frailty or The Conversation, we’ll have to wait and see, something tells me it’s just the embossed SteelBook with slipcover though.

I know, I’d rather have the title on the steel itself.

I also don’t think the slip makes it look any less like a drama. In fact, it looks even less like a horror film now with the smiling faces.
