Casper the movie was good from what I remember on TV. I like the classic cartoons too. Did they ever make Casper 2?

I wonder how these effects hold up? I don't have it on DVD/blu ray.

If Funko Pops switched their blank eyeballs to actually resemble the look of the character, I might be interested in those, but they insist on those blank eyes for almost all of their characters. That's why I never was interested in those since they're too generic looking. The ones where they do something unique with the eyes look better.

They did Casper Meets Wendy, a direct to video movie. I saw it as a kid but I genuinely remember nothing about it.

Re-releasing the live action Casper is a really bizarre choice. I don't think there's much nostalgic fondness for it.

The movie made $288 million on a $55 million budget. It was also the first movie with a 100% computer-animated title character.

Universal's doing pretty well financially. They grossed $3,760,000,000 last year. So even if they lose money putting "Casper" in theaters for four weeks, they'll still be in good shape.
