The scene is supposed to be creepy and to scare you, but in fact it is totally ridiculous and hilariously funny because the spiders are so obviously fake. Some of them even are stiff puppets on strings.

Nevertheless I love this movie because it has many other strong points beyond the silly spider scene.

I had some gift cards on Amazon UK so I ended up ordering the Shameless BD.

I'm fully aware of the audio issues and all, but I have half a plan to mux the Shameless video with the Arrow audio and subs.

Obviously, I'm doing this in the hopes that it will speed up the 4K UHD release. ;-)

It's the ending that makes the film for me.

[Show spoiler]It's just so bleak and depressing. They knew once they went and crossed over to hell that there was no way back. They were basically done for, no hope left at all.

I liked that the film went that way, it's not something you might see all that often.

I imported the Grindhouse release. Works well enough for me.

ANY news regarding a 4K release? At this point I'm actually tempted to give the Shameless disc another shot (not as my goto version, but simply to watch the movie in a better PQ than the Grindhouse disc)....

"Grindhouse is currently finishing the highly anticipated 4K Blu-ray disc editions of The Beyond and Cannibal Holocaust with more Blu-ray titles to follow." And this is from 240131. This may actually happen in my lifetime then. :-)

The Shameless BD is en route to me. Can't wait to watch it, even thou I know the music will be botched.

It isn't Shameless' title to sell.

They've licensed it from the rights holder. Hopefully just a 5-year license, then it will be up for renewal again and a better UK label can swipe it back off them like Shameless did previously.

I got my Shameless copy today and sampled it a bit.

It looks really nice, and I set my home theather to stereo, so it sounds ok too.

Too bad it only have english subs for the italian audio.

I may remux the Shameless video with the Arrow audio and subs. Would probably be the best version until the UHD arrives.

I made a half-assed attempt to remux the Arrow audio with the Shameless video.

I theory, this would make for a great version.

Problem is, I suck, so the results was less than stellar. ;-)

Also, I don't really think it's worth it with the UHD announced. The Arrow really isn't that bad.

I saw this at a late-night showing one time long ago and the whole theatre was in tears laughing over that scene. Then again, the whole theatre was having a blast in general with this one, partially laughing at how over-the-top the gore was, and partially due to all the cheese like the spider scene.
