That is actually a Lack bookshelf from Ikea with Capita legs screwed on the bottom, also from Ikea. Two of the included bookshelf shelves are left out of the construction to allow for the components to fit. Johk's original idea, not mine.

Have you thought about the wall treatments behind the JBL's ? If you like the sound you have now mate, then I'd forget about it. It might kill the lovely aesthetics of the room for a negligible difference ? Only my personal thoughts, but it is still a living room, and it looks like you've got the perfect balance in there already.

I in fact put up another thread in the Audio Theory section about whether or not to put up foam behind the JBL rear surrounds, but I'm thinking the rear corner placement might actually be helping with surround ambiance. Unless you were talking about behind the Boston Acoustics towers? I'm gonna mess around with some foam I have this week to see if it ruins my feng shui
