Really loved Exodus. It told a compelling story and it got me even more hyped for the game.

Well I found most were good. If you knew anything about Love, Death + Robots as well as short stories, you should have expected similarity. Otherwise, short stories are not for you.

I know that tastes differ, but his finding most of the shorts boring or forgettable doesn't equate to ignorance with regards to the concept of the short story. And he's not wrong. Plenty of these have been boring and/or forgettable. At least, to him and me. If you enjoyed most/all of them, I envy you. But it doesn't mean that either of our respective subjective opinions are "correct".

Despite its brevity, Spelunky was a sweet story that, unlike the Mega Man episode, felt complete because it actually had something to say.

Concord was shockingly great. There were twists and turns, a likeable cast of characters, solid action, and even a few fun surprises. It's a shame that the game wasn't envisioned as a single player experience. It wouldn't have necessarily reinvented the wheel, but it perhaps would not have died so quick and unceremonious a death.

Arnold Schwarzenegger in Episode 3

I watched the first three episodes of this series last night and enjoyed them for what they are, but I was surprised to see Arnold Schwarzenegger having a voice role as the lead in that story. What it made me realize, though, is that it would also be possible to produce a new Conan movie the same way with him as the star. So, why has no one had the same thought?

Schwarzenegger never got to finish his role in the Conan saga. He was supposed to be King someday, and yet the audience never got to see it happen. A movie produced the same was as Episode 3 of this series affords them the same opportunity.

I really enjoyed Honor of Kings. I never heard of the game, but the episode felt like something out of The Three-Body Problem.

Did you spot that King Aelstrom wields Conan's Atlantean sword?

No, but I wish I had. Maybe because it was so late when I watched it. Maybe it hit me in a subliminal fashion though.

But I had the thought of doing a Conan movie in that manner early on in the episode, as soon as I realized it was him voicing the character.

He really needs to do this. He shortchanged fans of the Conan films by having never stepped back into the role, and now that he's effectively aged out of the part, this would be the only way he can deliver another Conan movie, and I think it would be pretty damn cool.

Finally watched Playtime yesterday. It was enjoyable but ultimately felt like that just a promo reel for Sony properties. What's worse, is that at first it felt like it had something to say about predatory microtransactions and other negative modern gaming trends, but it all got swept away by the episode's conclusion. I wonder if this was envisioned differently until Sony came in with a sack of money.

Didn't' know this existed. Getting around to watching it and i'm bored to tears.
I guess this is Amazon's version of Love, Death and Robots, but with a much bigger budget seeing how every short is fully CGI.
Not much you can do with video game storylines. Netflix still has them beat in that department.
