It is interesting. I feel that gaming has changed over the years, and gamers have definitely moved into more of a rental mindset. I know I have. Between my backlog and the random monthly games they add, I don't need to purchase a new games. Shoot, I haven't bought a new game in a long time.

I pay $160 a year for PS+ Premium. If you break that down, thats two brand new games. The PS+ subscription allows me to play way more games than that throughout the year.

That's just PS. My son has an Xbox and I share the subscription. I can stream Xbox games on my Firestick on a Sony TV without the system. In the past few days I've played Lost in Random, Doom Dark Ages and Revenge of the Savage Planet. That's almost $150 in those 3 games. That's also a prime example of how Xbox kicks the dog crap out of PS. They actually give you new games with their subscription.

When you do the math the subscription service is the way to go. If the game leaves before you finish it you always have the option to purchase it.

That has definitely been one of the much better monthly offerings in recent times. Also, i didn’t expect Day/Date PS+ releases of new games like Xbox has tried because Sony clearly manage to sell a lotta games and make more money by not doing that model. I don't mind though if after a period of 12+ months the base games come though and that's probably what they're looking to do.

I look forward to playing Lies of P eventually, focusing on older games in my backlog first.

I'm currently playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and want to play the Dark Souls Trilogy next.

Lies of P is a lot of fun, but it definitely isn't for everyone. I haven't played the other two, but I'll give them a try eventually.

I think I counted around 3 or 4 times in my memory where I almost bought Lies of P on sale but didn’t.

That was a surprise for me. I’ll check it out. If it’s a game that I’ll end up liking, I’ll buy it when it goes on sale so it’s not tied to a sub.

I'll happily add both Psychonauts 2 and Stardew Valley, though I'm unsure when I'll get around to playing them both.
