I just keep having a major feeling of familiarity the more I see of this game. Most notably the footage shown at the Direct today. It’s like a greatest hits collection of all the major survival horror titles. As soon as they showed the enemies I couldn’t help but think they’re lifted right from Dead Space. Burning enemies? Crimson Heads from REmake (and subsequently other titles). Visually looks like Dead Space and Callisto had a romp together sprinkled with some Silent Hill, Evil Within and Bioshock. The rifts make me think of The Medium. And so on.

Bloober Team is killing it. Remake a beloved horror game only to blow people away with it. Then follow that up with a new IP and make something that looks completely amazing. Sign me up.
Also the use of goth rock This Mortal Coil and a deep cut track off an EP is a win in my books. |

This says "over 250" LinkdIn says 50-200 Apparently at one point they were in talks to be acquired. Then in 21 thewy started a "strategic partnership" with Konami to share tech and game development. Tencent owns 22% of their shares and as of 22 they have a "significant license and distribution agreement" with SONY Interactive. Looks like in addition to Cronos and Silent Hill in the pipeline they also have U Hate This Place (Skybound producing) and an unannounced Project M. So they're in a pretty good place right now. |

A lot of mutated monster games with monsters that look like they would fit well in a Silent Hill or Dead Space game, including Cronos and Stellar Blade as two examples among many.
Cool that it's not just first person view like so many games, but offers 3rd person angle. |

They probably had a much smaller team on the SH remake with the bulk of the staff on Cronos. Then once they got the remake out the door it was all hands on deck. |

I rarely put any stock in reviews/scores, seems like a lot of immature users ruled by emotions. Not in the sense that a game took them on an emotional journey, more like they are upset over some agenda or something a dev/publisher did or said and they just take it out on the game. The reverse happens as well, blinded by nostalgia or fandom, a dev/pub can do no wrong.
Once ppl found out developer bonuses were sometimes contractually bound to metacritic scores, way more user started manipulating reviews. |
