Kosinski himself spoke of bringing back Tom Cruise's Cole Trickle having having him in the same film as Hayes. A sort of motorsports universe.

It's already a point of friction for people to be envisioning professionals in their 60s racing in something of this caliber (maybe in sports cars, but not in F1, IndyCar, or NASCAR in the modern world). Even de-aging them a decade is a leap; the oldest current F1 driver (Alonso) is 44. But, I do think the "issue" can be solved if they shift Pitt's role. For example, using a film like Moneyball as inspiration and having Brad Pitt take over as team principal from Kaspar Smolinski.

I think it'd be a big question mark on Liberty Media and F1's willingness to just use the F1 movie's momentum for a spiritual sequel centered on a different sport. Depends on what the agreements look like, I assume.
