Positives:
1. You can use any MA connected service to watch your MA movies 2. If one service has the movie in the wrong aspect ratio (e.g. Vudu/FAH), it is often correct in another service (see no. 1) 3. One service might have a great sale that the other services do not (and it ports, see no. 1) 4. If the movie is not present on one service (e.g. the 4K version), it will be on one of the other services thanks to porting through MA (see no. 1) 5. It's a lot more uniform than it used to be, but some services have better bitrate than others (currently Vudu/FAH, MA itself, and iTunes are the best, Amazon and GP the worst) 6. A bit like no. 4 above, one service might only have their 4K movies in regular HDR only (e.g. Amazon, who deliberately downgraded their collection to HDR only) and others with the same movie in DV (MA, Vudu/FAH, iTunes) 7. You can watching using whatever service you prefer, and avoid any service you would rather rarely use, but for the reasons above, connecting all possible services is best. Negatives: none, in fact the idea of not connecting is not an issue to even consider in any serious manner. The point of connecting them (due to the reasons above): MA is a rights locker granting you access to MA that you own through MA itself or MA connected services. It's pointless NOT to connect every service you can, or even think it's not something you would to do. The "locker" system is similar to how UV used to work with the "UV locker" that recorded your rights. |
