If Cillian Murphy's James Jim character returned as the main character, I think that's the only way I'll regain interest in this series after part 3. I don't think I'm eager for more of what part 3 offered.

Credit to them for trying at least. I never thought this series would return under Boyle.

The last few minutes of Years completely eroded my interest in this. I couldn't imagine watching a whole movie with those characters in it. It would be unbearable.

Meh. Honestly looks more like a British Mad Max movie or a Walking Dead film than a 28 sequel.

Also it looks like they are focusing on the worst elements of the last film in this, the awful new characters at the end of Years, knobman and the bone temple.

Unfortunately so many movies have succumb to this part 1, part 2 gimmick where part 1 can't really stand on its own and relies on part 2 to be good. Same thing happened with Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Dune, Avengers, etc. 28 Years was obviously just a setup movie, basically a 2 hour trailer for the real movie.

I remember Boyle saying in an interview he doesn't appear until the end of the film - almost a cameo, and then has a fully realised role in the followup.

Loved 28 Years Later and am 100% on board for this. Can't wait!
