I recall having the same experience a while ago, and then that item turned up a day or two later IIRC. |

Well, I don't know what's going on.
There were a few items that released on Monday 25 August which I wanted and I also had a £25 gift card, so I thought I would place a big order and try and get it to the States before Friday when the tariffs supposedly kick in. However, I forgot that Monday was also a bank holiday. I ordered 24 items with AmazonGlobal Priority, which usually goes DHL Express. So far, Amazon split off the order into multiple shipments and assigned two of them tracking numbers, but neither of them have left the UK and I have a sinking feeling that they won't get through customs before Friday, because they'll be held and / or returned. Normally when I order around midnight Monday UK time, the tracking is available and parcels en route Monday or Tuesday for delivery on Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest, but I don't know if the bank holiday screwed things up or if this is just a reaction on Amazon / DHL's part to the tariffs. If the rest of the order doesn't move today, then there will probably be an issue and possibly a massive customs bill to pay. I'm really sad that this order could end up not working out. I love buying UK titles and supporting the UK Blu-ray industry, but I have no idea what's going to happen with these tariffs and I fear I may have shot myself in the foot this time. I probably should have waited to see what happens on Friday, but I was afraid this would be the last time I could order without facing a customs charge. Hell, customs charges are / were honestly one of the things keeping me from moving to the UK, so maybe I'll end up over there soon enough, now—and I'm only half-joking. |

Royal Mail and DHL are two of the companies who’ve stopped deliveries from U.K. to US so they work out how’s to collect the tariff as it applies to all purchases from companies.
Hence nothing moving at the moment. Read similar applies to retailers and mail companies in Australia. Your only exception is gifts under $100. Some smaller sellers may be willing to falsify that on a customs declaration but places like Amazon never would. |

Here’s the news article for you. Posted in the Indicator thread a few days ago as American there asked same questions as you.

DHL Express is still functional, though. My two parcels are moving slowly, but the rest of the order still has not dispatched, so I wonder if it will or if it will simply be cancelled.
EDIT: A third parcel just dispatched, so I might be okay after all. Squeaky bum time. EDIT #2: A fourth and final parcel just dispatched! Now I just have to hope they all clear customs, I don't think they need to actually be delivered by Friday, but hopefully they are. Last edited by McCrutchy; 08-26-2025 at 01:03 PM. |

Does anybody know what this means with Amazon?
I've ordered a BD player off them and I got a message it was dispatched but now when I look at the order status / updates it says the following: 'Return or Replacement or Exchange collection suceeded' And it no longer says it is dispatched. Did the original one they sent get damaged or are they picking up a player that has been returned and then dispatching it to me? If anybody has any insight with this it would be much appreciated. |

Appreciate Amazon don’t use Royal Mail for deliveries to the US but given earlier discussion thought worth noting here.
Royal Mail have restarted deliveries to the US with the following extra charges. 10% tariff paid by sender based on value declared on customs form (so if your a private seller remember to factor into your eBay, Etsy prices etc.) and a 50p handling fee. Assume the couriers the likes of Amazon, Lime Wood, Arrow use will do similar. |

Amazon IT but don’t want to clutter the deals thread. Anybody had an order just…disappear?
I made an order on the 28th. Got the confirmation. Go to look in my account now and its not showing. Also doesn’t show under ‘cancelled orders’. I know on the 31st Amazon DE cancelled an order I made with them claiming it looked fraudulent, and made me reset my password (which affects the login on all versions of Amazon) but its seems crazy if they’ve cancelled an order from 3 days earlier through a different subsidiary, and not told me. If i navigate to the items’ pages it says ‘last bought on 28th August’ but if you click to go to the order, it takes me to the list of orders and doesn’t show it. The payment still shows as pending in my banking app too The only customer service option is to request a call, which brings up an automated message in Italian so god knows what’s going on EDIT: I now see one of my UK orders has disappeared - Lawrence of Arabia 4K Steelbook + The Fifth Horseman is Fear. Which is extra bizarre as the latter has been delivered. EDIT 2: Yup, its the “Fraud” thing. Anything that wasn’t dispatched across all Amazons appears to have been cancelled. And somehow I’ve been cut off from the live chat, so I gotta decipher an automated Italian voice message I guess too. yay! EDIT 3: Got through the italian voice message, but inevitably and understandably led me to an Italian human voice who only speaks Italian. And I guess ‘transfer them to someone who speaks English’ isn’t an option cause we just kinda sat in silence for a moment instead. Last edited by JackyJacquard; 09-02-2025 at 12:18 PM. |

Given they cancelled a UK order as well why not do a call with them. At least you can do in English.
As you say all your Amazon accounts globally are blocked so get the UK one released to start the ball rolling. Why do they think you are fraudulent. Is it a new delivery address or bank card ? Or is the delivery address not the registered address of the card ? If it’s same address you’ve had with them for years they don’t normally create a fuss. |

Idk I think maybe because I was using a VPN and had left it set to the Netherlands. Delivery address is the same as it has been since I created the account, I didn’t even discover the locker option until yesterday lol Extra infuriating as while the German order I can likely get the same deal on Black Friday or something, the UK one was the rarest steelbook, and the IT one was some absolute bargains on box sets that I then shared with the rest of the forum, so now they’re sold out |

Not sure a VPN is the only thing Amazon are nervous about and hence rejecting your business.
Have being shopping with them for years when browsing at work and my company uses a VPN but it’s our own one so will track to the company name. They may be more nervous if you are using a mainstream VPN available to the public and are asking themselves why you are shopping whilst trying to hide your ip address and potentially country of residence. Sounds like you were placing lots of big orders at three Amazons UK, Germany and Italy in a short time whilst hiding using a VPN. Not surprised that raised red flags with them. |

I guess if the device ID could be spoofed it makes sense? But cancelling my orders from 30th June is insane. Especially as part of that order had already shipped! Especially without even telling me. Also that I verified my account within minutes, confirming my identity. I’m remaining cautiously hopeful that they will somehow honour my purchases Na like I say, no UK order. German one was €19 and I’d previously placed one on the 28th that is fine as it already shipped that was only €25. IT one yeah it was bigger but nothing was flagged up by it and it still shows as going out of my account which is the weirdest part |

It looks like I was right to place this large order with Amazon last week:

Italian lady apparently had cottoned on, my Italian is just that terrible I had no idea what she was saying. So their customer service email messaged me to say they were looking into it, then later that my orders had been restored but wouldn’t be processed. But then half of it has apparently dispatched! (I feel like I’m definitely missing out on the Rocky 4Ks though as that’s showing out of stock from Amazon) Amazon UK sent a much shorter email confirming my order had been restored. Amazon DE…have not responded, despite saying they would do in 24 hours. So I chased it up again. We’ll see. The order actually shows as cancelled in my history though so not optimistic |
