Not surprised and not a big deal for me but for information a few old extras is missing from various sources:
Audio commentary by John Woo, Producer Terence Chang, Filmmaker Roger Avery, Critic David Kehr Audio Commentary by Hong Kong Cinema Expert Bey Logan John Woo and producer Terrence Chang (Fox Lorber DVD) Interview with director John Woo (29:41) (Tartan Video) John Woo, Terrence Chang, filmmaker Roger Avery, critic Dave Kehr (Criterion Laserdisc/DVD) Film producer/historian Bey Logan (Dragon Dynasty Blu-ray) Making-of documentary a guide to filming locations an alternate opening scene Trailer gallery “Body Count” montage "Accidentally" student film by John Woo (10:29) (black-and-white) "A Baptism of Fire" - A Featurette with Iconic Director John Woo (38:18) Interview Gallery: - "Partner in Crime": An Interview with Producer Terence Chang (24:56) - "Art Imitates Life": An Interview with Co-star Philip Chan (15:56) - "Mad Dog Bites Again": An Interview with Lead Villain Kwok Choi (25:03) Hard Boiled Location Guide (8:49) Trailer Gallery: - Original Theatrical Trailer - US Promotional Trailer "Stranglehold" Video Game Mini Making-of (3 min) Also a Taiwanese extended version exists that's 3min longer so that could be some "deleted scenes" maybe? (Features the longer "Preview" version of the film, screened in Taiwan before director John Woo made his final edits for the Hong Kong release. It is NOT the director's preferred cut.) Been waiting on this and a "real" upgrade since those Laserdisc days when Criterion did their work. Last edited by wesslan; 09-03-2025 at 03:04 PM. |

I'm glad we're finally getting a 4K release because I had a pill bottle I was just about to put down the hatch.

At 65$ USD, this is going to be stupid expensive in Canada. At that point I’m holding on to my rescued discs and waiting to see what Arrow does.
It’ll be a hard wait for The Killer tho. I was never sent the rescued discs for that and had to charge back so the bastard would give me my money back. Did anyone even get a copy? |
