28 Years Later didn't blow my socks off but I still really liked it and this looks awesome too. I'm in!

This looks very good. Albeit a little more conventional compared to the last film. But I welcome the style change.

I'm guessing the pr0n version will be called 'The Boner Temple'...

Much like 28YL - one of only three above-average films I've seen this year -, it seems that it's the character work that will make or break it. Nice to have a promising movie to look forward to in January, usually a dumping ground.

+1. Not gonna please everyone no matter how good these films are but I love the evolution of this franchise so far and for me at least I’m excited that the ride will continue.

Interesting thought I just had.. both Years and The Bone Temple seem to be taking different queues from 28 Days Later. I remember after seeing Days one of the most frequent comments regarding it’s narrative structure was how it felt like two different films. One about the isolation and survival of the outbreak and the other about the evolution or de-evolution of man and society. Years is very much in line with the tone of the first half of Days with survival and family being at the forefront. With the introduction of a clear group of human antagonists in the Jimmy Gang The Bone Temple seems to be embracing the latter half of 28 Days Later.

The first two films are excellent. Once the infected become a second fiddle threat in their own films, I’m out. It’s like The Walking Dead; once it becomes less about actual survival and much more about rebuilding some sort of society, I’m out. The BDE characters are just dumb.

28YL had such highs (Fiennes and that whole section) and such terrible lows (the opening act and the finale). This looks better, I think, but this will probably be a wait and see for me.

The ending of 28 Years Later was the best moment in Hollywood film this year. I'm very excited for this follow up.

I am really surprised they're this far along after all to have a complete trailer already. That's good. The trailer was not bad and seems to have a serious tone to it. Could the son actually be able to handle himself with the training of the new gang? That would help a lot compared to the prior film 28 Years.

As mentioned multiple times in this thread and the thread for 28 Years Later, they were filmed back to back.
