Was there a 4K thread for this? I've posted it in the Dazzler thread

Not the Steve Martin film unfortunately but something about animals shitting in fields. BBC https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002gt1r

Oh man, BBC isn't releasing these anymore? I don't trust Dazzler Media much.

Dazzler have done some good releases.

Looking at the production credits maybe the BBC don't own the home video rights even though their logo appears on that artwork. It does just say "As seen on BBC".

Oddly enough neither do I.
I have a few Dazzler titles, none of them have a chapter menu, just what is the excuse when even free Nero for createing your own DVD includes the option for a chapter menu. Dazzler might just as well have a large banner on the back of the case 'be kind re-wind'

Will this be all new material or rehashing from other series?

Looking at the Blu-ray cover above I'd say it's just a Best of sort of thing.

As I also suspected nothing to do with the BBC either they're just renting out the logo.

Going to the BBC web site, and to Silverback Films (Attenborough's company) it seems like they're treating it like a new series/new material.

https://silverbackfilms.tv/shows/par...d-coming-soon/

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/art...ood-underwater

Also, this review from the Independent doesn't make it sound like it's just a re-use

All3Media is the company behind the release.

https://www.videoageinternational.ne...or-parenthood/

I think they are also behind a lot of the 'Guy Martin' shows, which Dazzler also put out on Home Entertainment, I presume they do a lot of business together, given All3Media don't have a Home Entertainment arm, although they may do VOD?

This has popped up on iPlayer I seen it on the new section yesterday https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episod...t1p/parenthood

I assumed it was a best of. Could you imagine the expense of just filming animals with their brood? Maybe they shot it and saved it for later or something.

Not my cup o' tea I've been waiting for the new Adam Curtis documentary Shifty which has real dangerous animals.

I do think they shoot tons of footage when sending teams out making these docs, and I'm sure they use different pieces in different series to tell different stories later. I have friends who work more in the documentary world, and they always emphasize how you never know what you'll get, and the stories are often really 'written' during editing not shooting. I imagine that's triple for filming wild animals.

OTOH, to get enough specific footage to make a whole series around, say, parenting, you'd have to know that was one of the areas the folks back home wanted you to focus on.

Very interesting to know that Adam Curtis has a new film! Often hard to get to see those here in the states...
