FYI, Hamilton Book here in the U.S. has the Peter Cushing Sherlock Holmes blu-rays released by Severin Films. Separately or as part of the CUSHING CURIOSITIES box set. Both are at pretty good prices. $21.95 and $69.95. They have $4 shipping no matter how large the order. I just picked up the box set from them. I have no affiliation with Hamilton Book. I'm just a frequent customer.

While I was browsing your internet, I came across the following. Travel to the link below and you will find the complete works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle pertaining to our favorite detective. They are available to download in various formats or read online. The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes finally became part of the public domain in the January of 2023.

Edit: Although maybe not as interesting as I first thought. Jeremy Brett's real name was actually Peter Jeremy William Huggins, and not Brett. Edit2: After a bit more thought, perhaps it was. I present you with two actors which portrayed Sherlock Holmes. One actor changes his real name to Brett, while the other, changes his name from Brett. I should have used this as the trivia question above. Last edited by SHolmes221B; 02-19-2025 at 02:24 PM. |

I would have given at least 40 pounds sterling for that! Heard of anything new coming from Film Detective or Flicker Alley?

The Sign of Four (1987, Jeremy Brett)
I have the Spanish Blu-ray set which contains only the TV movies, including The Sign of Four. This set: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00AXOJW...asin_title_0_0 (I don't speak Spanish, but it was the only Blu-ray available when I bought it - there's an English language option) Does anyone else own this version? I only ask because I'm finding that the colours are overly bright, particularly the reds. The film grain has also been rendered almost invisible. Alternatively, is this TV movie available on Blu-ray but with a more accurate and less 'enhanced' colour rendition with no grain removal? Last edited by Barbossa; 09-04-2025 at 09:44 AM. |

The program and feature-length episodes were shot on 16mm film. Except for The Sign of Four, which was shot on 35mm film. Look at the row of icons for Brett's series in the first post. Those are the ones you should buy. No issues. |

A good question, I ended up having to buy my episodes on Blu-ray by season, sometimes from other countries - as long as they had an English audio track that was fine.

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...242201&page=16 The only other issue is with "The Three Gables", which seems to have had an issue with the frame rate at some stage of the process (so motion is not smooth). |
