Yes, but the US edition has embossed title. Also it is matte paper with gloss picture in the front much like the UK 3D 2016 Ghostbusters edition slipcover. The UK 3D The Way of Water edition slipcover is glossy without embossed text.

Fair enough, to some people the slipcover is more important than having discs stacked on top of each other, it's always worth remembering that different people value different things.

Forgive me for asking about what may be obvious to everyone else, but can someone please explain what the concern is about stacked disks?

I can understand worrying that the motion a case would be subjected to during shipping when purchased might lead to some kind of damage. But, what specifically has someone here personally experienced in that regard?

Was the shiny non-printed side scratched(?) or abraded(?) enough to affect the disc's ability to be played? Or was the printed side visibly damaged? Or, something else?

Once the movie is at your house, would it ever be subjected to the sort of ongoing continuous motion that might cause damage?

I have Disney discs from Australia that have disc care instructions on the sleeves and one of the warnings is to not stack discs on top of each other. The main reasons being I assume that they get scratched or stick to each other. The latter is what happened to US editions of Sin City 2 if I remember correctly. But fundamentally it's against recommended good practice so there's no excuse for it.

Is it the same 3D version as before or an extended 3D one?

Same version.

If it was extended I am sure they would be promoting it as such.

Yeah, Cameron is no stranger to extended versions but at the same time I don't think anyone tells him what to do any more so the theatrical version is always his director's cut. The extended first movie did play theatrically but that wasn't a director's cut.

It's possible he might have continued tweaking the film to link into the third one but more likely he's just focused on the third one.

It'll likely include an extended first look at Avatar 3
