That is why I think it is better for SF to have less characters and save introductions for the sequel.
I do actually thin the MCU represents a pretty good guide to how Street Fighter could be done well, the general tone of it and building up characters individually before a big crossover.

The problem is I think Hollywood tends to view videogame films as cash ins and wants to do the kitchen sink approach as a result with its far easier with MK. I do think something like a Ryu film, a Chun Li films and a Guile film each with only a a handful of the characters in it building up to a crossover would be a much better idea but I'm not sure you would get the time/budget to do that.

You would I think also need some good casting, again SF doesn't really have the eye catching gimmicks of MK, the characters done badly run the risk of being bland.

Plot synopsis

Quote:
Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!

Glad to see the audience gateway characters are Ken and Ryu, and that they didn't decide to make up a new character like Mortal Kombat's Cole

I guess you can get an actor and then just composite them onto a real martial artist to make it look like they're fighting, as seen with Karl Urban doing back flips in MK2 2025.

Ryu and Ken joining with Chun Li's recruitment to join the tournament is the right path. Keep it focused on an actual tournament.

Maybe they show up at the main location and it turns into a Bloodsport movie. That could work but with SF characters.

Would be cool if the final four to beat would be the bosses from the games.

How M. Bison falls into this story should be interesting.

The cast reads like a skit from SNL.
