Yep, it's a well worn trope but was nicely done anyways. As for the Gorn, I think it was a mix of both. Practical for the most part but with some CG embellishment for the eyes and whatnot, and it looked great (Alien Earth should take note). Best of both worlds (tee hee).

On a separate note, I've long been championing the fun, frothy episodic nature of SNW but I have to agree that this season has been frothier than most and for the future it'd be nice to see a return to solid stories like Terrarium rather than modern gimmicks. I know we're getting a muppet episode in S4 but I hope they've gotten it out of their system after that.

This season has made me start to dislike her character.
It made sense from her characters perspective and history, even if it didn't make the most sense in the particular situation.

[Show spoiler]Knowing how intense, and deadly, the recently previous SNW encounters with the Gorn have been, why wouldn't Ortegas have told her Gorn pal to remain hidden until she prepared her Enterprise rescuers for the shock, curiously armed to the teeth?

I mean, in CHILDHOOD'S END, Clarke had kids board the alien ship first, only to reappear cheerfully surrounding a being who looked truly Satanic, horns and all?

Of course, how awkward would a reasonable Gorn aboard Enterprise present going forward?

I could never dislike her.

Great episode in classic Trek tradition with a perfectly fitting TOS tie-in. What a great complement (and counterpoint) to Arena. I had my doubts, but Ortegas easily carried the episode.

Let's steal another trope for TOS for god's sake do they have to undo everything Kirk and Spock did originally just because these hacks of writers can't think of anything else. First Kurtzman steals from Star Trek II and now he lets his team steal from one of the most renowned episodes of the original series.

This episode was fine until we get the frigging metrones again. Screw spoilers do they have do they're own spin on everything TOS did it's really... BORING.
