Will be buying the Galaxy Express complete since I hadn't bought the other packs, but I must admit this doesn't sit too well with me in regards to how this deviates again from Discotek's usual style. My preference would be for single complete collections where applicable, even at a higher price, so if Discotek prefers this option would be nice to have them release them that way from the start.

The gap isn't that big, the news of Ippo going OOP was back in February. 999 has a better case though since that was back in May of last year at the same time as City Hunter 2.

I meant between the initial release and the complete release. With City Hunter it was a little over a year whereas with these it was multiple.

I guess a main issue with City Hunter was, that after the release of complete S1 many fans waited for a matching (& cheap) complete S2 set, which hurt sales of the initial S2 sets...
Also it didn't help that City Hunter was a mix between old O-cards and new ones with rounded corners. That won't happen with Hajime no Ippo, as the follow up seasons, if they will be released by Discotek, will likely be complete sets to begin with, due to their episode count. |

I personally think it’s cool if there are multiple releases for a single title. I’m not so much a fan of the “one and done” release strategy. Galaxy Express TV and Hajime no Ippo getting a new lease on life also means the door is still open for like titles to get their own physical release in the potential near future.

I prefer complete series sets over split up sets. I never got around to buying 'Galaxy Express', so I'll go in for that. I won't actually shell out just to get a rebundling of a series I already own, so I'll stick with my three 'Hajime no Ippo' sets.
Hearing that 'Gunbuster' was going out of print got me to jump on it now instead of waiting for Black Friday. Hopefully it won't be revealed that they're taking it out of print to immediately replace it with a 4K release. |

Justin and co. have already stated Gunbuster is likely returning to licensing hell once their rights expire.

Gunbuster has been back in stock on Amazon for a while now. Anyone still waiting should get on it ASAP.

Do we expect any Discotek sales before Black Friday?
