I liked that too, I think it adds a little something to the jump scare as well, like it shocks you into seeing colour lol

Zero problems for me, no picture freezing / skipping or any audio drop outs on my Panasonic UB820 paired with the Sony Theatre Bar 9 + SA-RS5 Atmos Speakers and SA-SW5 Sub, it played perfectly.

Can’t remember what forum member, but they had an audio drop out in the atmos track. Very brief and only one. Said it was not in the 2.0 track.

Out for delivery after making a pit stop in Philly for absolutely no reason. I want to make it a Saturday marathon beginning with the OG 'Night', then Dawn followed by 'Day' and finally NOTLD '90. I may even do 'Land' if I have any energy left. Only thing that's stopping me is I'd rather wait for the new 4K of Day of the Dead.

Amazon delivered today, the UHD looks perfectly clean this time, unlike the one I got from HMV. That one had fingerprints (which I cleaned off) and a small scratch (which can't be cleaned) but I watched it over the weekend and it played fine. I guess now I have a spare I need to decide whether to sell or return but I don't think it's fair to scalp people so if I sell it it will be for what I paid for it.

The film itself was an interesting rewatch but I probably would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't just watched the original in 3D, as most of the story beats are exactly the same and full colour is not as immersive as 3D. I don't like it when colour films have sections turned black and white (worst offenders: Comin' At Ya! and Kill Bill Vol. 1) but the switch to colour in the DC is very impactful so I can live with it rather than starting the film in the theatrical version and then switching to the DC (which is what I do when watching Commando - the line change 26 minutes in simply makes the movie less badass).

I can't say I really noticed any extra gore but I haven't seen the film for years. It really holds up very well and I find the changes to the original are often an improvement though the "they're us and we're them" line still makes me cringe.
