Ratatouille vs Shrek 3 - Blu-ray Forum

Which do you think will make the most sales for their hd format?
Even though shrek 3 made more money (mostly hype money) i think ratatouille was the better movie and i am sure it will outsell shrek by a lot!

picking it up with Cars too!

While it SHOULD outsell Shrek 3, I'm not sure that it will. Shrek is far more recognizable than Ratatouille unfortunately. Tough to say, Ratatouille is selling well on Amazon though.

i think both are recognizable, shrek because of its huge movies, but cmon,
pixar is more beloved and has more history. Till this date pixar is yet to go shrek the third on its audience. all movies are great.

Ratatouille, 'cos:
a) it's a lot better animation.
b) it's disney and they'll do a great advertisement for it.
c) overall blu-ray sales are about twice as hddvd's.

Unless I'm mistaken Ratatouille has yet to see a compete global release, which could certainly impact home media sales.

I have Ratatouille on order, though I have not seen it yet. I have seen Shrek 1&2, and getting a little tired of them. My wife likes the shreks and wants to see 3, so it's a rental.

me don't go theatre to watch either
bcos i know somewhere in time, i going to get the dvd/bd.
and bcos it's disney, sure will get it.

i don't really like dw animation, they try too hard to imitate pixar and like to make fun of disney esp in shrek.

Ratatouille was the much better movie. Shrek 3 was so not funny and tried too hard for the laughs. I was highly disappointed. I loved Ratatouille and already have it on pre-order.

Lots of people hated Shrek. Ratatouille is beautiful, a wonderful film and Pixar. No one hated it, just not as many people saw it as previous pixar movies

I saw both Ratatouille and Shrek 3 at the theater, Ratatouille is a much better film. Shrek 3 has ran out of steam and the story was going nowhere, I was actually bored by it at the theater and I wouldn't buy it even it were on Blu-ray. I love Shrek 1 & 2 though. If I were a parent I would have brought Ratatouille for my kids and shut the kids up, it has a good story line and a good message. BTW I would collect every single Pixar movie ever comes out on Blu-ray.

I agree 100%. Me and my son are both big fans of Shrek 1 and 2. We went to see Shrek 3, and it was very dispappointing (the story was not funny or interesting). The only good part is where Shrek and company meet the old wizard. I am looking foward to Ratatouille big time, and would not purchase Shrek 3, even if it were released in Blu-Ray.

(at jakarta, ratatouille was on cinema for about 2 months)

Will definitely be getting Ratatouille... No interest in Shrek 3 at the moment. My son is not interested in Shrek either - didn't even make it through Shrek 2...

Okay, it is only a couple days until the release of Shrek the 3rd. Currently, the title is not even in the top 100 on Amazon. Is anyone still doubting that the small rat is going to crush the big green ogre? I am thinking that Shrek the 3rd won't even pull the top spot for next weeks sales. Ratatouille will still be there. I have no doubt that Ratatouille has already sold more copies than Spider-Man 3 too.
