Tombstone and Silverado are my favorites. I also like Wyatt Earp and Open Range alright. I was disappointed with 3:10 to Yuma because I didn't like the ending.

Give it another shot. I was actually the same way, and didn't care for it much. But I watched the movie again, and I liked it a lot more.

I liked the movie except for the ending. I've heard that in the original version of the movie
[Show spoiler]Dan Evans didn't die in the end.
I don't know why they thought it would be a good idea to change that in the new version.

Default Not my genre

Not really into westerns but if you look at my films, you'll know that I have good movie taste. With that being said, my favorite westerns would have to be The Great Silence and Once upon a time in the West along with The Proposition.

Give the original 50's version (with Glenn Ford) a try -- it has a completely different ending.

Good film too -- not nearly as much action as the remake, but plenty of psychological tension. They kept a surprising amount of the orginal dialogue in the remake.

I love a good western! A few all-time favorites:

30's:
Stagecoach -- it made John Wayne a star, and it's truly great

40's:
Red River

50's:
High Noon
The Searchers -- my favorite and a GREAT Blu-ray!
Shane
3:10 To Yuma - the original

60's:
Liberty Valance
Rio Bravo
Shanandoah
True Grit
Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid
- maybe not a true western bit a fun film

70's:
The Cowboys
The Shootist

80's:
Dances With Wolves

90's:
The Unforgiven
Quick & The Dead
-- hey, it's Sam Raimi.

00's:
3:10 To Yuma - remake

I'm sure there are many others, but those are the first that come to mind.

I am not that big a fan of westerns, however TWO movies in my top ten all time favorites are:

- Once Upon a Time in the West (1968)
- The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)

The Searchers (1956) is also great.

The Ox-Bow Incident: It's the 12 Angry Men of posse movies, and it even stars Henry Fonda.

I wish, but sadly and oddly, no. It's my favorite Jarmusch film. Broken Flowers is up there though.

You can sign up for Dean Man on BD, with a possible release (might be an Import):
