Prasad Labs should use this as an opportunity to attract business from all Indian studios. All movie lovers would agree with me and unanimously support such a move. How good would that be if we had these 4 Eros blu-rays with “Sivaji Quality”. How cheerful this forum would be .... Can you imagine.

Audio Quality: Excellent
Subtitles: Excellent positioning with scaling to the HD picture and optimised for readability and clarity.

If Prasad Labs have authored all Indian blu-rays, undoubtedly, everyone would be convinced that blu-ray is the way forward and would have given a tremendous boost to the Indian blu-ray industry while forming a solid foundation to totally eradicate pirates.

Bollywood bluray - Any reason why Ayngaran abandoned Prasad Labs for Ayan BD and they went with AP International, a relatively new BD authoring company. Was Sunny involved with this authoring. Don't tell me EROS has something to do with this with their 50% stake in Ayngaran.

Yeah even though the movie genre is comedy the movie is not worth a BD .The movie suks sry to say that but i should admit it.But im a little bit disappointed that this would be first TELUGU BD .i was hoping arundhati 2009 or Magadheera 2009 will make first on BD .I hope the Bluray 1080p encodes be done on some hit tollywood movies not wasting their time on shizzy movies IMO.The list in my opinion worth BD atleast at the start

Ok this is my opinion.Anyway itz in the Ultimate hands of Encoders and distributors.No offense against this movie.if the blu ray gurus want to take time on this movie king but this movie is not worth BD atleast for the first position.The songs were so fudged up .some stupid comedy and i give a star out of 5,effortless direction.But the BD is already ready i suppose

^ Seems King BD has some problems with respect to BD specs and Prasad labs wont be able to re-author them till the end of October as they have other commitments to fulfill, so its gonna be out mostly December time frame. Your wish is going to be fulfilled as Arundathi will be the first Telugu BD to hit the shelves in October from RVR.

Thanks for the swift response matty .Ok then i get 2 see gr8 telugu movie on gr8 resolution partyz that to in BD.So india shud fastly pace off to BD and i think possibly advertising about BD in india will get the BD sales high IMHO.I thought BD takes hell lot of time to come to India, but here it is

kalyansrinivas, I myself have not yet seen "King" but I know many that have enjoyed it. I have enjoyed many "flops" and disliked many "hits" including yours "Pokiri".

Anyway, the point is, let the consumer decide what's a good film and what not. Let this forum be about the transfers/releases.

kalyansrinivas, i am surprised see your comments on the movie. It is a very nice and a big hit movie with continuous comedy and beautiful songs. Movie is directed by Sriny Vaitla who did other hit movies like Dhee and Ready. I dont know whether it is the first blu-ray or 10th blu-ray in Telugu, the movie rocks with all the good things in it. Just for the comedy and songs, we can watch it multiple times.

Since they say it is authored by Prasad labs, quality must be better than any of the latest hindi blu-rays. Lets wait till December for this blu-ray.

We cannot read the subtitles of the 4 new Eros releases on our large CIH (constant image height) display because black bars are not displayed on those screens. Also the subs cannot be read on new 21:9 super-wide TV sets now shipping in Europe since those TV sets do not show the black bars. Also, the subtitle of 4 new Eros releases are generally bad. There is no consistency. e.g. Munna bhai subs are big and ugly, very low quality - seems like DVD. Billu barber subs are totally different and not legible.

All other previous blu-rays authored in India (OSO, Heyy Babyy, Sivaji, Villu, Pokkiri) have great subtitles. They are universally compatible with all displays - i.e. all displays in the world can show the subtitles of those movies. Also they are HD quality and scaled beautifully to fit the HD picture. It is obvious that the peopled produced those previous blu-rays carefully thought about the subtitle scaling and placement.

I do not understand why the authors of 4 new Eros releases made random decisions on subtitles without thinking - at least they should have thought about previous Indian releases. Subtitle are extremely important to take Indian blu-rays to the west. The studios and the authoring houses should be responsible and due diligence should be given when making decisions.

This is really rubbing salt and chili on the wound that Eros caused by releasing low quality blu-rays. Many people are disappointed with this major problem.

Subtitle placement is a significant issue. In response to a request from Sony, blu-ray.com forum recently held a poll on subtitle positioning. The majority of blu-ray.com members (existing members and new members from other major forums) voted and the majority decision was to place the subtitles within the picture - but subtitles should be in HD and scaled; and nicely integrated into the picture to optimise readability and clarity. There are many important reasons for this decision. The issue was intensely debated and this was the final outcome.

Based on the outcome of the survey, Sony Pictures decided to plan for placing (scaled and well integrated) HD subtitles within the blu-ray picture. Now almost all Hollywood studios follow this trend. (This applies to blu-rays only - not for the DVDs, There are very good reasons for that. If interested, please read the links given below.)

This is an important request to all Indian Studios and the authoring houses to follow the direction on subtitles placement set by Sony and also in-line with the current practice of Hollywood giants: Disney, Paramount, Universal, MGM, Lionsgate and Fox.

Bollywood blu-ray, please forward "all" this important information to "all" Indian studios (YRF, Eros, UTV, Adlabs etc.) for them to make a Studio level "policy decision" on subtitles placement rather than allowing the authoring houses to make random decisions on this very important matter.

Please check, below given one of my previous posts. This post has pictures on new super-wide TVs which do not display subtitles if placed on the black bars - simply because they are 2.35:1 aspect and they do not show the blackbars for the Indian movies.

If you or your family decide, may be in five years time, to get a CIH display system or a 21:9 super wide TV set, you will not be able to read subtitles of these 4 new Eros releases. Think how bad that could be…

I see this post in many places. You haven't got an answer because people on this forum don't know an exact answer to your question.

Why not do some research on these titles and try to find about box office records, local ranking, overseas ranking and post more details. Then people may give more comments...
