Me personally for that price would look into the Onkyo 805 or a Pioneer Elite

Agreed. Mostly depends on your budget.

Onkyo 605=$500
Onkyo 805=$1000

*Both receiver do just about the same things. The 805 has a larger power output, upscales a bit better..... but I think you'll be fine with the 605. It will do everything you need it to do.

Pioneer Elites are also very good, except pricey.
