Default Break in procedures?

What's the procedure for break in? I know generally keeping contrast and/or brightness down is the idea bur what's passed that? Just bought a g15. Any issues with simply using the THX setting and making sure to avoid long static images? Since the thx is the recommended setting in most cases would I need to do a custom calibration?

Just stick with some full screen content for a few weeks basically. THX mode lowers the settings to appropriate levels, so that's taken care of. Avoid letterbox films and video games for the most part during the first few weeks. But really, break-in is not totally necessary as long as you use common sense.

If you limit the time you spend viewing still images, avoid ultra-bright modes like Vivid, and are extra cautious during the first 100 to 200 hours of the set’s life (the phosphors are most prone to permanent burn-in when they’re new), you shouldn’t experience any problems. You can burn a program on to a DVD that has special slide show material necessary for break in of your display, I forget where you get it. Maybe someone else knows where it can be found.
